Fruity

The other day at work the boss got a fruit basket from the bank. He didn't want it and the girl in the office didn't want it so they passed it on to me.

Years ago, our produce department used to make a ton of fruit baskets for Christmas. There were always lots of orders for them plus they would make some to put out. Now we hardly make any of them. Do you give or get fruit baskets?

This is a huge basket too! I hope you love fruit! How nice to get something for free that you weren't expecting. I have gotten fruit baskets as a gift, but never given any. Maybe I should...

glad they gave it to you.. maybe you can share with Amanda.. the problem with fruit baskets as gifts, unless it is to a really large family, one or even 2 people can't eat it all before it goes bad.. I have never given or had one gifted, but I did twice get the fruit flowers. looks like a flower arrangement but is made with fruit. I took it apart and put the fruit in a container but ended up throwing some of it out. the chocolate covered strawberries were the first to go with bob and I fighting over who got the last on. LOL you can make a fruit salad, or banana apple salad for Christmas..

Fruit baskets are a great idea, but rarely is. First, fruit baskets are expensive and they have to be made and distributed quickly or the fruit is marred or going bad. And then some people don't really eat that much fruit, so it goes wasted. It was nice that they gave it to you--I hope you enjoy it!

I remember how we looked forward to getting a big orange and an apple in our stocking. Our kids now would laugh about that. I like to keep oranges on hand for the kids here in the neighborhood ever since one of them knocked on my door and asked "do you have any oranges?" I never ever had a fruit basket or sent one but you enjoy, maybe share some with the birds.

I'm a fan of Edible Arrangements - chocolate dipped pineapple - Yum! But yes, usually too much for one person - my husband doesn't eat fruit.

I've never given or received a fruit basket. It would go bad before we could eat all of it here. We do love fruit though. I think people would rather have candy and cookie gifts rather than fruit.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

used to get one from my friends, but they are in the Philipines every holiday now. I would rather have candy. LOL

It is huge especially just for me. Hopefully I can get Amanda to take some

They are expensive. I'm thinking if I can't pawn some of this off on someone else I might try and dehydrate some

This is a lot of fruit for just me and likely it will go bad before I eat it all unless I can give some away

I would choose chocolate over fruit but they didn't have any of that to offer me

I'm so glad they gave it to you. I would love that. No I don't think I've ever given out a fruit basket.
