That's right, I've got just a peek at what I was working on yesterday. I hope it's piques your interest enough to make you come back to find out what I did.
This is my first attempt at a reverse canvas project. You start with a stretched canvas and then cut the canvas off of the wood frame. You then paint the wood if you want, paint the canvas and add whatever you want and reattach the canvas to just one side. For now I just have the wood frame and the canvas. I've painted both but was waiting for everything to dry before I finished.
If you want to learn more about reverse canvas you can watch this 4 1/2 minute video I found on Youtube.

Good grief, who would have even thought that this is a thing? Waiting to see...
I'm looking forward to seeing more!
She needs a staple remover instead of a pair of scissors or screwdriver. If that would be me, I'd have jabbed my thumb!
Can't wait to see what YOU made.
Interesting. I have not seen that done but now you know you have me interested. Thanks for your sweet comment about the fibro. I try so hard but I get so tired of trying.
Well that sounds different! Why not just buy canvas, it comes in sheets or in rolls?
OMW I almost fell to pieces watching the video, Tedious is what i thought. watching her remove the staples made me crazy.... that said, i can't wait to see what you did and it is a good thing there are people who love to do these things. i assume the things i do would be tedious to them.. LOL..... i can see buying old canvas paintngs at thrift stores and painting over the painting and doing this. i knew a painter that painted over paintings. i am rattling. i watched the 4 minute video in 2 minutes. ha ha
That was painful to watch, I'm not handy or crafty but even I could have done a better job getting the canvas off LOL And depending on the cost of a stretched canvas, wouldn't it be less expensive to buy some canvas and inexpensive frames? I'm sure you will do something more artful than this finished product! (And I do appreciate your lovely use of 'peek' and 'pique'. I love homophones and cringe when people don't know the difference 'peak/peek/pique' etc)
I would never be able to do that. It was enough work getting the staples out. I don't have a crafty bone in my body. I sure applaud those that can do these crafts.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
I know. Amazing what people will come up with
The end result will be in tomorrows post
There is definitely an easier way to do it than what she did in the video. One I saw said that you could just leave the staples in.
I guess because of my cricut machine I have seen a lot of this type of project. It's mostly done with vinyl cut on the cricut.
You are more than welcome and I think you do an amazing job of dealing with the fibro but I can understand getting tired of trying. On those days just let yourself take a break
LOL, I thought the same thing but I used it because it was relatively short. Even cutting the canvas off could have been done easier by just using a box cutter around the edge.
I suppose you could just buy canvas and cheap frames but this seems to be a big fad right now and I happened to have a canvas that I had bought a long time ago and never used.
I though the peek and pique was rather clever and I wondered if anyone would say anything about it.
I used the video because it was on the short side but she did not demonstrate how to remove the canvas very well. There's a much easier way of doing it
That sounds like a fun project. Better you than me. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Have a good evening.
Well, now that I watched it will be even more interesting to see what you are doing.
from the comments, not going to watch the clip - but I have to say "using what you have" is far more satisfying for the soul...
LOL, it really isn't as hard as this person made it look
LOL don't blame you. It would seem that my hobby of collecting craft supplies is much bigge than my crafting hobby so I have plenty of supplies to use. I'm trying hard to just use those and not buy new
