sunday morning

On Sundays I start work at 5 a.m. . This past Sunday was no different than any other. At least the beginning wasn't any different. Around 6:50 a.m. the lights flickered several times and then went out. The four of us who were in the store at the time ended up sitting in the back parking lot for the next 3 hours waiting for the lights to come on.

We chatted, played on our phones and were entertained by the birds. My boss always throws stale breads out from the bakery to feed them and they were all out there ready to eat. I couldn't get a very good picture but you get the idea.

That hour of the morning is brutal! Did you ever find out what happened to the power?

That's a long wait! I'm glad it was summer...it sounds as if it was a welcome break?

ON MY WORD! 3 hours in the parking lot. hope it was not as hot as it is here. waiting makes me crazy! the thing is bread is bad for birds, no nutritional value for them and it can choke them if it gets wet. run a search on birds and bread. also bad for ducks. i found that out at the spca

That was one long wait! I hope it didn't put your baking too far behind although I'm sure it must have. I love that your boss feeds the birds :)

Yikes, that's a long time to wait for the power to come back on. I'm glad you had the birds to entertain you.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

Every now and then a bird will get in our local grocery! I don't know if they zoom in through the doors we go in, or if they have flew in through the dock and managed to get up front. That would be harder to do as there are smaller doors from the store to the unloading/stock area.

Awwww.... a boss that is kind to wildlife can't help but be kind to employees. Am I right? Hopefully so. Love, Andrea xoxo

Oh my, it's not easy waiting for things like that. That's nice that the birds get feed.

Ginny, I'm kinda used to it so it's not all that bad. The electric company's website said animal contact

CheerfulMonk, yes but luckily it was a nice morning.

Anni, it did put me behind a little but luckily I had an easy day ahead so it didn't take long to get caught up

Sandee, it did get rather boring.

Andrea, yep, you are so right.

Lin, you would think but it actually went by pretty quick. It did get a little boring in the morning but not too bad.

Power outages are awful especially in heatwaves. It sounds like you all made the best of it. Good to see you here. HUGS across the miles XO
