I can't be positive about the ID on these but I took a picture using google lens and it identified them as Bittersweet.
This dead tree sits just off of my property line. The property belongs to the doctors office behind me. The people who mow for them mow around all the branches that have fallen off of this tree and the weeds are getting quite high around this tree. There are lots of these red berries around the tree so I went out to take a picture of them.
I could complain about this but a couple years ago I mentioned it to someone at the borough office and they told me to contact the doctors office. I even went as far as contacting the doctors office and they said they would look into it. The tree still stands, the weeds still grow. I'm done with it.

They are very pretty. Wonder if they are edible? They likely taste both bitter and sweet! But how can that be, both at the same time...
They are pretty, but it’s too bad the doctors don’t take better care of their property.
Hmmm. You would think they would be more than willing to get it under control.
I am wondering if it was better before covid? i have noticed here that all our private and public yards are in much worse condition and getting worse by the day...they are great blog fodder and the bush/berries are pretty
I can tell you from experience it is hard to get anyone that takes pride in mowing a yard. And csnt say much because there are no options.
Apparently the office doesn't care about the dead tree and weeds. You can't do what you can't do. At least you tried.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
It's a shame they haven't cut it down but the berries look pretty.
Bittersweet...interesting. Shame that you can't get the docs office to do anything about it. If the tree is dead, a good storm could bring it down.
Well, the red berries are a bright spot anyway...
