Flying by the seat of my pants.

The last few weeks I've been doing really good with posts. I've scheduled a weeks worth at a time on my day off and I was good for the week. This past week though, I ran out of scheduled posts and I'm feeling rather uninspired.

When I went to do a post for Tuesday I accidentally put the date as the previous Tuesday and the post was buried. Some of you saw it and some of you didn't. For those who didn't, I'm posting just the pictures again since it was a cake I did.
I'm thinking that perhaps the size of the ball and a hole maybe a little off but seriously it's cake. I wanted to make the ball look a little more like a golf ball so I used the end of a tip to add a little bit of texture to the white blob

Yesterday we were under a heat advisory here. The high temp was 88 or 89 with a real feel of 99. It was hot but it wasn't actually as bad as I thought it was going to be. The only AC I have is a small window unit that I will put in my bedroom when it gets really bad. Yesterday morning when I went to work I had all the windows and curtains closed and it kept the temp down in the house. When I got home Gibbs and I hung out in the Ann cave. We had no problem beating the heat.

I love how you made the ball, it looks just like a golf ball!!! This is the perfect cake for a golfer. Looks like you have the perfect cool spot for the hottest summer days.

I'm glad you're managing to escape the worst of the heat. That's so important. Take care! (I did see the cake before. I still like it and am sure your customer did too.) ❤️

the basement is usually the coolest place in the house. especailly if it is part way under ground and some are all the way under. about 3/4 of the USA was under that extreme red splash on the map during weather report. glad yours was not killer heat

I am glad your house does not get too hot. I was surprised at how well ours did during all this with the ac. Then I think we lived fir years without it at all.

I think if you keep it closed up it should stay cool. I'm glad you have the window unit. We grew up without air conditioning, so we learned to survive. Sleeping is always hardest and a window unit helps with that. It's hot here too. And humid. I'm DYING.

My daughter has a tri level and the lower level is always cooler than the rest of the house. Always coldest in the winter too! We hit 94 yesterday and kept all the blinds closed as well.

I'm so glad you're keeping cool even with the a/c on, Ann. Basements usually are the coolest part of the house. Go you!! ~Andrea xoxo

I didn't notice the date, but love that cake. It's perfect.

It's cooler here and we're happy about that. The next three days we'll be in the 70s and that's a good thing.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

Glad you were comfortable in the house with all of that heat.

Great looking cake and I think the golf ball turned out really good!!

I usually write about my walk in the morning and then finish the rest after supper and then post it. Don't remember ever scheduling a post.

We don't have AC and don't need it. We do have ceiling fans though. Doesn't get all that hot here and living in the woods there are trees all around us.

Fun cake and I thought how you did the texture on the golf ball was very clever. The heat kept me inside yesterday.
