I've been out in the yard on and off with my camera getting pictures. It seems like I had just taken pictures of the Japanese Iris looking like this.
Of course, as I'm posting this, these are already starting to lose their blooms. Soon they will just be the green leaves for the rest of the summer.

Gorgeous ..I DO like the color purple!!!
I love seeing flowers blooming out my windows. I feel the same about the ferns in the back yard, when I planted wild flowers I put them where I could see them out of glass door and windows. when we planted bushes we did the same thing, each of our windows has trees in the view
I would love having them in my view any where.
My Iris are done and I'm about half way through cutting them back. I have a lot so it takes several yard work days to get them all cut back. I love them like you do. Looking out my kitchen window and seeing them always makes me smile. They came from my parents yard. Mine too are purple, but the dark purple with double blooms. They're quite large, but my favorite of all the flowers.

They are beautiful! I wish these flowering plants and trees kept their blooms longer!
So pretty!! They do bring such a nice bit of color to the yard! Too bad they don't last long though!

Your iris are absolutely beautiful, Ann!! Oldest daughter's mother-in-law grows irises too. I always say I'm going to plant some in the fall & then never do. Maybe this is the year!! ~Andrea xoxo
Oh Ann, they would make me so happy too! Your blue irises are just showing off theirgrand beauty for you! Lucky you! I can't seem to grow Irises! I need a green thumb, like yours!

So beautiful. They would make me smile too.
I hope your eye is better.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥
They are definitely beautiful. Too bad they don't bloom longer.
Such a pretty color. It's a shame the spring blooms don't last longer.
They are beautiful even if they don't last long.
Oh wow, they are beautiful!
These are really pretty. My mom use to have a bunch growing out back but sadly over the years they died out.
