sometimes it pays to whine

The schedule came out for next week and it had me working on Thanksgiving. I said to new boss "you've got the two highest paid employees working the holiday and some if us aren't happy about it "
He promptly took me off and asked if that was what I wanted. Of course I said yes and that I was tired of having to work holidays. There are times when I get myself into trouble when I open my mouth, but this time wasn't one of them.

squeaky wheel gets the grease. i am betting the people are the worst workers gripe about the holidays and since you don't he goes with the easy out. also those type people are the ones who call out sick when they don't want to work. yay for TG off. will you go to Amandas or have them over to your house

Good for you. You shouldn't have to work any holidays after being there so long!

Good for you...so glad you got the dsy off. My daughter worked full time at a mini mart while going to college full time...her boss just had everyone come in for an hour or two on thanksgiving and Christmas, giving ones with family preferential treatment..which everyone was fine with... it was like a bug party all day long. No one minded just an hour or two...the young girls did not care when they were scheduled.
