Even though it may look like gold don't let it fool you.
Another little item that is preparing to go to the craft show with me. It will eventually be on a chain. The quilled flower is made with strips of brown paper bag. It's coated with glue then I painted it with a gold metallic paint. I also painted the wood disc that it's glued to gold. I glued the blue gem to the middle but I'm not sure if I like it or not. I've made some others but left off the gem.
Not bad for a brown paper bag.

If you had given me a 100 guesses - I would never have guessed a brown paper bag. You must have great scissors and a ton of patience.
Boy, you sure know how to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear! LOL Beautiful! ;D
Wow sooooo beautiful and sooooo creative tfs!!!
Gorgeous, Ann. I cannot believe something made from a brown paper bag can be so pretty. WOW...
Hugs,
Betsy
I wouldn't have guessed it was a brown paper bag either. I like how it turned out!
Very cool Ann! You are always coming up with crafty ideas!

Clever and creative, as always!
That's lovely Ann! Perhaps it may be possible to do something similar with large buttons. These would make good decorations for T-shirts, blouses, dresses, skirts and slacks ... the sort of added extras to make something into a designer piece of clothing. Though I'm not sure whether it would be possible to be able to glue your wonderful creations onto buttons.
If you have ever heard or seen Gok Wan ... he adds items onto clothing changes clothing, makes tops out of scarves, etc. http://www.gokwan.com/

It could be quite interesting to use buttons or similar to add to clothes ... you certainly got my mind working overtime there, Ann - Lol ... I'm quite worn out sewing on all of those buttons (mentally, of course!)
That is just amazing! Who would have thought that something so elegant could come from something so ordinary.
Now that's the kind of craft i like- take something that is a throwaway and turn it into something beautiful
Wow, I love this design Ann! I thought the disc looked metal until I read the details. The blue center gem looks perfect to me. YAY! hugs xo
Ann the metallic gold is fabulous and I think you should keep the center it looks beautiful ! Ladies can with a matching ring!
Amazing, surely a first for a quilling project!! You thought of this yourself?
Old West Highland Proverb: If you only have one item for sale, you should be able to sell all of your wares sooner, and the sooner you sell all of your wares, the faster you can get back to fixing bacon for your puppy.
I think it is great just the way it is. But it is nice to have different variations. I don't know id you do bracelets at all. But I have noticed the kids are into them.
A great way of recycling...I do get what you mean about the gem though...it looks nice but I don't think it does total justice to the pendant.....maybe a clear one would have been better??
Lovely, Ann! The gold and the gem look great to me. Maybe you could experiment with different colours?
This is very pretty and I never would have guessed either that you used brown paper bag for materials. I like it with the blue gem, but it probably looks pretty without it as well...
Hello to Duke :-) from the Gizz!
It's very nice. Bound to be a best seller. I like the gem.
very nice, it is golden.
