Thunder in the city

I hear that Duke told you Wade and I went to something called thunder in the city on Saturday.

They blocked off some of the streets for the event. There were plenty of classic cars.

This one is a complete survivor.  Never restored. I would say someone took very good care of that car.

There were also lots of bikes. Love that mural painted on the side of the building.

I want a ride on this one.
Tomorrow I'll show you my favorite one.
In case anyone was wondering, first day back to work went surprisingly well. The girl who worked for me came in this morning and asked how she did. I had to mess with her a little so I called her out in the hall. The conversation went something like this:
Me: I have 2 questions for you
Her: OK
Me: Did you do the best you could last week?
Her: uh huh
Me: Are you proud of the job you did last wee?
Her: yeah
Me: Well  you should be because you did good.
Her: OMG you had me terrified

  1. OMG.. that survivor is a Mercury Cougar! It's what I drove in high school and I have always longed to have another one... Awesome!!

  2. Oh I would have gone to this too. I loves me a good car show and there's always food nearby. What could be better than that.

I'm glad that the gal did a great job too. I would have been terrified too. Just saying.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

  3. That car is awesome! Whew!

And you are a kidder there at work aren't you?

  4. Oh my stars ~ your conversation would have totally scared me too! Haha ~ oh you are a naughty girl Ann!

Looks like you saw some fun modes of transportation! :)

    xo Catherine

  5. Oh you are teasingly cruel!
Looks like you had fun at days of thunder!

  6. LOVE that silver bike, but my favorite is the second picture, for the great reflection!

  7. I don't think that I have ever seen such a glamorous motorbike!!!

  8. That was good - what you said to the girl. Two great questions.

I love the motorcycles - would never get on one but they are rolling works of art some of them.

  9. I LOVE the complete survivor!! WOW! I had to call Joe over to see that beauty.

It was hard to go into work today, wasn't it? Gees, I did NOT want to go in. I was very crabby and couldn't hide it from my co-workers--they all sort of left me alone to sort out the mess. I did have one really great gal help me--I'm gonna have to bring her in a treat tomorrow.

That is IF I go back again. hee! hee!

  10. I wonder how they kept that survivor in such good shape all these years?

  11. That 'survivor' car is awesome... You see so few like that --which have never been restored... Wow---that's super!!!!!!

Looks like you all had a great time.

  12. My hubby loves to go to car shows like this! We have an old-timer event each year in our area, but I have pesonally never been!
I like the red car best :)

  13. That car is totally amazing. Look at that paint job, still perfect.
I would have been terrified with those questions too. Glad I don't have a boss.
    Take care.

  14. I wish my alter-ego was that nice to me. Oh yeah, I would love to attend your festival. Grayson wouldn't want to, though.

  15. So that's what Duke was talking about! I think he's a bit jealous that you left him behind, as he should be. He would probably love to walk around in the fresh air. You should really take him with you next time.

    Love, Bubba

PS....Mom loves the mural on that wall.

  16. I dated my husband in a Mercury Cougar! I love the wall painting.

  17. you were bad to trick her, glad she did good so you were happy with what went on while you were gone. now i know where the thunder part comes in, BIKES, i love the thunder of Harleys and the more the better. we were at bike week in Daytona a few years back and it was a thundering good time. the red chevy is like my first car, but mine was green and white

18.'re SO BAD!!! Bet it DID scare her! it!

Looks like y'all had a good time of it too! Love the Chevy!!!

  19. Dear Ann & Duke,
Meow! That was some showing of cars!

I hope you don't mind, but I borrowed your photos of Duke sleeping and your signature-photo for my post for ABC-Wednesday-D. I wrote "D as in Dog" and Duke is one of my examples. I gave you a link back here.
    Thanks a bunch!
