Wow, it's been a long time since I last posted about the art journal I started last year. It's been almost as long since I've even picked it up. Why did I get away from it? Could be because I got busy with other things or maybe it was because I lost inspiration and did a page like this.
It was so pitiful that I didn't dare waste another page for fear of a repeat.
Time passed, things slowed down and I came across a blog post that Linda from A La Carte did.
She joined The Documented Life Project 2015. I liked the idea and thought it might give my creativity a badly needed jump start. Now of course knowing me and how I tend to not follow the rules I won't pretend that I'll do things exactly they way they intended but I am planning on using this to give me the push I need.
I got started a little late but I've already finished the first three challenges so I'm now all caught up.
I'm only going to show you the first one today. (No sense in using all my blog material up in one post)
For January 1, 2015
January theme- The blank page and how to face it
Art challenge - book paper
Journal prompt - Be your own goal keeper
And here is the page that I completed
Maybe that red milk cap looks a little out of place with all the blue but I stuck it in there any way.
On a side note, I received an email from Connie at Crafty Home Cottage that I won the #2 prize in her blog anniversary giveaway. She's celebrating 3 years and giving away 3 prizes. There's one more left that you can get in on so head on over to Crafty Home Cottage. She'll be happy to see you and you're going to love her blog.

I'm glad to see you're getting back to doing something you enjoy. I knjow I sometimes wonder what exactly happened when I get away from things I like.
Love the new page! It looks like a very creative start.
We all need a kick start now and again and your new page is great!
Congrats on winning Connies giveaway!
i like your Jan 1 page, and it serves multi purposes, creating, journal and blog fodder... be sure to show show us what you won, my curiosity bump is up
What fun! I am no good at those sorts of things. And I like the milk cap.
Looks like you have a lot of ideas for this
I was wondering about your art journal just the other day...thoughts become actions...
you're making me want to start a journal so I can answer to something. lol :) I'm all about simplifying. :)
Way cool on reviving your art journal, but on your win too. I went over and left a comment.
Have a fabulous day. My best to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
You are so artistic! I love them both!! You did draw a line, then you put a little bird on it. I LOVE the milk cap, it sets the whole page off perfectly. I love everything about it, the bright colors and the book page background.
I love how your page turned out! What a great idea to keep goals in there! I have been wanting to start an art journal for years now but don't know how to begin so I don't do anything. Maybe this summer I'll finally get the nerve up to try.
Hi Ann, I'm happy to see that you are back to journaling. I find it to be very relaxing. I got your email, thank you :)
Have a great day.
Connie :)
Well if you're "jump start" works like your page does, you are GOLDEN!!!!...:)JP
Yay for getting out your art journal! It's cute! I like the red - it pops. I started one 2 years ago and haven't touched it since!
Hi Ann, I think that creative people like you struggle sometimes because you have so much you want to do that it gets overwhelming... A Challenge like you have joined should work well... The thing you need to remember is that you ARE creative and whatever you do is GREAT...
Hugs,
Betsy
Great art journal page Ann, I love that pop of red! Sometimes we just need that little prompt or commitment to give us the spark we need to get our creative juices flowing, have fun!
good for you starting back up again...I've been wanting to do an art journal, but all I do is think about it!
I love anything with book pages. Your page looks great...I LOVE the pop of red!!
