The Blank Page and How to Face It!

Art Challenge:  Gesso
Journal Prompt:  “The beginning is always today.” -Mary Shelley

I must confess that I did not use Gesso. I'm much to cheap frugal for that. I used my homemade modeling past which in my opinion is the same darn thing.

I was pretty pleased with this page and I can only assume that it's all that yellow. It kind of brightens up my otherwise dull world right now. I've got one more page done and that gets me all caught up until they post the next challenge

Gesso
Gesso is a white paint mixture consisting of a binder mixed with chalk, gypsum, pigment, or any combination of these. It is used in artwork as a preparation for any number of substrates such as wood panels, canvas and sculpture as a base for paint and other materials that are applied over it.

I have never understood Gesso either. I guess you have to be a real artist. Gesso or not, I love your book.

Lovely Ann! I use gesso occassionally, I've got two jars that I've had for years and they are still good. I should use it more but always forget about it LOL!
