It's a start....maybe

I've got about two more weeks to go before we do the craft show we do every August. I haven't made anything all year long.
Saturday I made my first new item.

I took one of these

And made it in to this

Each space will hold a piece of candy instead of pills. My original plan was to put Hershey Miniatures in them but if it's going to be really hot out they would end up melting. I suppose I can always keep the chocolate in a cooler and fill it at the time of purchase.

My one problem however is that the paper is peeling off rather easily. I sanded the plastic before I glued the paper on to give the glue a little more gripping power but I don't know if it was enough. I hate to sell something that is going to fall apart on someone. I used Elmer's school glue on them. Any glue experts out there have any suggestions?

I am in charge of filling up the monthly pill slots for both Arlynda and her mother, and this has given me an idea.

Cute idea, Ann :) Good luck with all the show prep. I mostly work with textile glue, so unfortunately I don't know what would make paper stick to plastic better.

Great job Ann! I wonder if Mod Podge would help you out...if you painted OVER the letters??

A little googling produced: Tacky glue or contact cement glue.

Wow! Great idea! I had no clue as to how you could use a pill box for a craft show sale! Love it!

How do you think of those things? The chocolate idea would be great for fall shows but yep, melting is an issue in the summer. How about pieces of hard candy instead?

I hope you figure the glue out. That is a really cute idea. I know nothing about glue. You will figure it out.

That's a fun and clever idea.

These are so creative and CUTE! Maybe you can use hard candies instead? As for glue sorry I'm clueless.

Cute idea! Did you ask at the craft store for glue suggestions?

Cute idea Ann! Do you have any Glossy Accents? I find it sticks to most everything and on the plus side you can use it as a resin like coating too. Hope you find something that will keep it stuck together.
