Baby leaves and yeah me

Oh my it's May 1st already. Time sure does fly.

So I shut my computer down and restarted it the other day and now it will read my SD card again. I took this through one of the bedroom windows on a less than sunny day but baby leaves make me happy.

And here's a collage of some of the pictures I posted the other day.

So what's the yeah me part of this post? I had almost forgotten about it until I looked at the calendar yesterday. Then I realized that it was 6 years ago yesterday that I smoked my very last cigarette. It was my third time quitting but this time I think I can safely say it's for good.
So the question for the day is Are you a smoker, ex smoker or have you never tried it?

The baby leaves are adorable! Congratulations!!! Nicotine is so powerfully addictive! I never smoked cigarettes, but my mom and grandmother did. A lot. This was before it was known how bad smoking really is. They finally both quit cold turkey and never smoked again.

I tried a cigarette when I was 15 and hated it, thus I've never smoked since. I think it just might have got me to this age as my Mum, Dad and Brother all had heart problems and smoked like chimneys. I love Spring as well, its my favourite time of year.

Smoking is too addictive. Congrats on your staying away. LOVE your collage and "baby" leaves.

I love baby leaves also and the new green they turn. beautiful collage flowers. congratulations on your six years. July will be 33 years since Bob put down his cigarettes because I asked him to... I thought for a while I might beg him to start again, he got really nasty when he could not smoke...I have never smoked. my dad would have killed me. my grandmother smoked 2 packs a day, but neither parent did.

Love your pictures, Ann. As for smoking- I tried it once when I was 12 years old and it made me so sick that I thought I was going to die (as only a 12 year old can imagine)...so I never tried it again. My hubby smoked for years off and on and he is also 6 years out as a non-smoker now. It is a powerful addiction and I am proud of you for quitting. Have a wonderful day! xo Diana

OK...I'm now on my desktop computer and I see my rose favicon showing up...Maybe the last iPad update messed things up somehow with Google...don't know.
Anyhoooo...it'll be 6 years for me as well in June. SO glad I quit!

Oh how pretty. I love spring.

I used to smoke years ago and can't stand the smell of it now. I'm positive I'll never smoke again.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

Yeah, that's the good old way of fixing computers, turn off, then on - repeat as needed. Glad that's sorted.

My printer wasn't connecting the other day...and lo and behold....I shut it down for the night and the next day it worked! Freaking miracle. Ugh.

Not a smoker...although every now and again I will smoke a cigar with Joe. Good for you quitting. That is tough!

It is addictive. Wade tried several times to quit but he never lasted long

I started young and it was such a mistake

Ann said...

It sure is. I quit 3 different times

I wish I had done the same thing all those years ago when I first tried smoking

Ann said...

Yeah! Congratulations to both of us

Ann said...

I'm the same way. I can't stand the smell anymore either

Ann said...

yep, if all else fails, reboot

It took me three tries before I succeeded. The first time I only quit for 6 months, the second for a year and half and now this time

Great accomplishment, Ann! I know a couple of people close to us that are working hard to stop smoking. My daughter uses that e-cigarette vape thing (not sure that is what it is called) and I am concerned and don't know why she continues.

Your photos are all lovely. Restarting the computer often fixes funky stuff.

Yep computers work great when they work! haha...I learned in the working world years ago that if it is not doing as it should, log off and reboot. GREAT on the smoking. I know that it is a hard habit to stop although I never have had to deal with it. I tried as a teen but never really enjoyed it. I have enough bad habits that I am glad that is not one.

Congratulations on quitting smoking. I never tried smoking. I have read quitting smoking might be harder than quitting drinking or drugs, I don't know if that is true, but I am sure it is difficult.

I smoked in my 20s because my Dad was a full on smoker (left over from his war service days) and Mum had said "no"...I then went overseas; well away from home, and I tried them - nothing fancy, and not many per day. I gave away the habit about 5 years later, as my wages were going up in smoke and I wanted to wear the latest fashions...

and now I don't wear the latest fashions and I spent my extra money on art supplies :-)

No, my folks and sister smoked and I hated breathing it in, so I never picked up the habit. Good for you for quitting! It's hard to do.

I love the pictures and am glad the SD card problem was so easily fixed. :)

rebooting has helped more times than I can count

Ann said...

I never did drugs and I'm not much for drinking so I can't compare how easy quitting smoking is to quitting those. I think with any addiction though you have to really want to give it up first

art supplies are way better than cigarettes.

Good for you never picking up the habit. I can't stand the smell of it any more, it's horrible.
