Sometimes I surprise myself.

I've never been one to rush holidays. I've also never been one to decorate a Christmas tree for anything other than Christmas. I suppose there is a first time for everything because I have a fall tree in my cave now.

First I broke my rule of decorating for fall too soon. Second I broke the rule about putting a tree up this early. I kind of like the way it looks.

So how did all of this happen? Well I had been wanting a pencil tree for the cave. This was another purchase using my rewards Mastercard. When it was delivered I had to put it together to see how it looked. Then, as long as it was put together I got the idea of seeing what it would look like decorated for fall. Once I got everything on it I liked the way it looked so it stayed. I've actually added a little more to it since thins picture. I found some fall fake flowers and bunched them together for a bit of a tree topper. Aside from the decorations, I'm enjoying the lights on it in the evenings.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! Why? Because I have wanted to make one for years! I have enlarged it as big as possible and been looking and looking. It is SO cool, and pretty! Keep it and decorate it for Easter!

I love it and it is perfect in your cave and is where you spend most of your time. I love lights and would be happy with a tree with nothing but lights, that is why I leave the lights in the nook year round. I do my morning Excercise in front of the nook, looking at the lights. fairy lights make me feel joy. I am thinking of a new tree, and maybe one of those half trees that hang on the wall. I know one blogger who deocrates every season in her whole home, and autumn is her most decorated. she has several fall trees. I love the tree itself, it will be gorgeous when Christmas comes

Ann this is wonderful...I think what a great way to start the fall season. Besides because it is thin it doesn't take up a lot of room. As the days start to shorten am sure you are going to enjoy the lights. Have a wonderful start to September - Hugs!

I love it. I had a friend that kept a small tree up year around and she would decorate it for each season/holiday. Such a fun thing to do.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

I love it. I've had a small tree that I decorate for all of the seasons and the holidays for many years. I stopped doing it for a few years but started again last year. It's a nice way to add seasonal or holiday decor in one place. I love your pencil tree.

You can't have too many sparkly lights.

It's cute! I like a tree up for the soft lighting in a room, but I don't think I'm ready to put mine up yet.

That looks like the size of my tree. I really like a narrower tree like that, it takes up so much less space. My niece and her family attend a church that keeps a Christmas tree up in their rec room year round and they decorate it each month in a different way. Sometimes it has spring flowers and sometimes Autumn leaves and sometimes it's decorated in red white and blue. You might just decide to keep your tree up year round. Have fun!

It looks really pretty. I like those narrow ones and loved looking how you decorated it. Honestly, after seeing how someone decorated their front yard for Halloween yesterday, I started eyeing our tree with a box of decorations for Christmas. I should start earlier this year.
