Black Friday

I was on a roll with posting every day until yesterday. I had all day since we really don't have a huge celebration for Thanksgiving. It was just me, Wade, Amanda and Brad. Oh and Duke, of course. Truth is, I just didn't feel like it. I skipped the blog post, and I only did about half the drops I normally do.
I'm back today for black Friday though. So what did I do today? Was it shopping? NO WAY! I had to work but even if I hadn't I would not be caught dead in the stores today. I prefer to do my shopping on line these days.

I got this text message the other day from my daughter.

So after work I came home to get holly and jolly. I may not be any hollier or jollier than I was before but I got a lot of pictures that I'll be able to post...lol
I'll try and get back into full swing with a better post starting tomorrow. I'm also going to see if I can beat my record for consecutive posts. I love a challenge.

We got the tree up today and I fell jollier. I always do since Christmas is my favorite holiday. I'm with you on the Black Friday shopping. No way.

Have a terrific holly and jolly weekend. ;)

It's crazy now and it's just gonna get worse! I'm really struggling to read, comment, drop, and post on the blogs. I'm getting very fried from it all. I'm really reconsidering EC because of it. For now, I'm taking the weekend off. Glad you were "holly and jolly"!

Sandee, Christmas always used to be my favorite but the last few years have done a number on my holly jollyness...lol

Lin yes I agree this is a crazy time of year

Even if you didn't get hollier and jollier, glad you got photos of trying to be! We got our tree today but won't have time to decorate it until next week. The smell of the fresh pine is making me feel festive though.

I hear you on the drop fatique! I love the posting part, though, so lined some up while I was totally away from COMPUTERS for a few days (felt kind of strange....) BUT catching up with bros and sis's and esp all the little kids, now THAT was refreshing! I wonder if I'll bother with a tree this year--I wonder how much more dropping I can do?? So many questions...

Gosh, I just wish I had someone to help me with the tree. That job has always been left to me. Well Buggy girl does "help" me with it nowadays. We all deserve a little respite from dropping now and again.

That message from your daughter is so funny!
It is the first advent this weekend, so I have a traditional wreath on the coffee table, plus a few of my handmade decorations here and there, but because we have Sammy (our cat) we can't have a tree...he would want to climb it (and probably eat it)!!!

The last time I got a real holly and jolly, it took cops from four different jurisdictions to settle me down. I'm glad it went better for you.

well I hope you get jollier as christmas gets nearer...:-)

Beaded Tail, I went artificial several years ago but there's nothing like a real Christmas tree. The smell is wonderful

Vanilla wishing you a happy holly jolly also :)

Will Oaks, if it wasn't for my daughters insistance I may not have put a tree up. Sounds like you had a wonderful time.

Buggys she didn't help she did it all while I sat and watched...lol I also used to be stuck with not just putting it all up but putting it all away too

Duni, of all the cats I've ever had only one ever tried to climb the tree.

FishHawk well I told my daughter that holly jolly doesn't come in a box but I never considered the possibility of a bottle.

allotments4you, we will see

Wow! That was like a Christmas ambush! I'm just like you. I'd need someone to come over and get me started. All I have right now is a wreath on my door that my sister gave me. My sister whose house looks like a winter wonderland and who pities me.

Kathy, Christmas ambush, I like that. You have more up than I would had my daughter not come over.

I hear you on the time crunch. Only reason my blogs are posting daily is I wrote a log of posts all at once and prescheduled. I'd struggle with my schedule to actually write every day. I am struggling with the normal number of entrecard drops and stuff. It's the holidays I figure as long as I keep up with some minimum it's ok.

I hear 'ya ... no Black Friday madness for me either. I like your dd's attitude, lol. Have fun decorating!

I had planned on putting my tree up Friday as well but the day came and went and there is a serious lack of pine in my living room.
Congrats on getting your up already!

And I hear you in the shopping thing too - what did the world do before amazon.com?

Looking foward to the pics. I worked all day yesterday too and then tried to get holly jolly after but didn't get too far. I did manage to put up the Christmas trees though. I'll have to finish the decorating today.

I definitely do NOT go into any store of any kind on Black Friday! lol No flippin' way man! Dh had to work yesterday! :( He was supposed to have off. So I ended up catching up on laundry and trying to design a kit...but again I do not sell any so I am thinkin' what the hell is the point! but whatev hehe

When I was a kid we never put up the tree till Christmas Eve - I've been reading blogs where folks say they put it up right after Thanksgiving. I guess with artificial trees you can do that - live trees not so much.

DK Miller. I'm thinking I should do the prescheduled thing but I tried it once and for some reason it never posted. Guess I need to figure that one out.

Vickie, yeah DD is pretty holly jolly

The Bee well not much pine in my house either because it's all fake :)

Sheri I'm just glad my daughter did it all because I can not get into the fuss of it all anymore :)

Tanyia laundry yuck. The point is that you have fun doing it?

Grace until I went artificial Dec 15th or the weekend closest was the official tree day. Other decorations went up earlier but that was the day the tree came in the house. I miss the smell of a real tree but not the mess

I actually DID go shopping on Black Friday but did NOT get up a O-dark-thirty to go! My daughter wanted some holly jolly time with me so off we went and had a fabulous day. Hope you had a great time with your daughter, too!
