The plan

In my travels through blog land I've noticed that some of you are way ahead in the Christmas decorating while some, like me, are way behind. I'm having a little trouble getting around to pulling those boxes of  20 some years worth of decorations out of their comfy little storage spot. It's not that I'm suffering from that bah humbug feeling, I'm just not looking forward to the mess that will result from all those boxes.
Then it hit me. The plan is perfect I tell you.
Instead of getting out all my decorations I'll just post all the wonderful pictures of decorations I've collected from one place or another and adopt them as my own.
No mess, no fuss, no clean up.
So just look at what I've accomplished.
I've got the tree up and it gave my living room a whole log cabin kind of feel. Isn't it amazing?

No? You're not buying it? (pause for big sigh here)
Oh well, I don't think my kids will let me get away with it either. It's just not right, they are adults you know, I shouldn't have to keep doing this every year. I suppose they would probably have a problem with their gifts being wrapped in grocery bags too huh?

Works for ME! In fact it's ingenious!!

I think they'll just be happy to get their gifts no matter how they're wrapped! I'm reading your blog instead of decorating our naked tree but maybe I'll go put up an ornament or two.

I like that whole idea. The grocery bag thing is great.

Hey, once you get it up - just leave it up all year - throw a sheet over it for dust - and then next year - pull it off and you are all done!

Ha... You be silly!!!! Love that photo though....

I have a friend who leaves her Christmas tree up all year round... I could never do that. It would take the joy out of decorating it --and enjoying it this time of year.

Hugs,
Betsy

to copy Ginny,it works for me! love it and would like my CABIN to look like this. I went from 6 foot to 4 ft to 2 foot trees now. no kids, no presents and it takes me less than an hour to decorate. just so you know there is hope out there. but maybe not. because mother put up a big tree until her last year on earth. get going girl! we are waiting to see your tree. OR you could show us LAST years tree and how would we know. love YOUR cabin

We usually put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but we haven't as yet. We've been way too busy to do much of anything. So it will wait until next week. I think I'm feeling the same as you. Anyway, your photograph of the way things could be is awesome.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

I will be decorating even less this year because of our new windows - Don't ask...but then I've never been much of a decorator to start with...The paper bag gift wrap is fun if you include a few crayons - I like crayons...

I had it easy this year. The kids saw my parents getting out the decorations right as we were about to leave and come back home so the kids reminded my husband for the FOUR hour drive home (to get out the tree and stuff). My hubby and the kids did a great job--even if a lot of the ornaments are on the bottom of the tree:)

I hope you will take out those boxes because I wanted to see all the ornaments that you had collected.

So, they prefer plastic?

That's a really pretty picture and I do like how the tree has totally changed the decor in your living room. My tree didn't have that effect at all so I think your idea rocks.

Very pretty, but doesn't look like you could live there much

I know the feeling. It would be so much easier and you could change the whole thing daily

Works for me too. I think those are terrific decorations. Just make a huge picture of that and put it in your living room. It would be fun to have a log cabin like that. I am with you Ann especially with kittens around to knock it all down. We know Duke wouldn't do that. Take care.
