Hoarders

I'm afraid I might have a slight problem.
You look at this picture and you say "put it in the garbage" right? Well I looked at it and said "OOH, craft material" I envision craft projects that can made with this. I hurriedly  store it away before Wade can drag it to the trash. I dream about what I'm going to do with it. That wouldn't be such a big problem if it actually got past the dreaming and planning stage.
I wonder if the show Hoarders wants to do a crafters episode?

I assure you that we would be competing side by side! :)

LOL! My bead and paper stash would probably qualify as hoarding! You know you have to do something with that stuff now so we see what can be done with it!

You don't have a problem Ann. You just want to recycle and not waste, which is awesome! I do the same thing. I had a bunch of that shipping material and I used it to ship items I sold on ebay. I never throw that stuff away. :) If you do have a problem then I do too! THH

Well, I can see how you could use the Styrofoam, they sell it at the craft stores. But I don't know about the other stuff...

Well, my wife and I have come to a truce, of sorts. For we both have different ideas about what is valuable and what is not, and as long as she doesn't try to throw away my valuables, I'll leave her's alone. If her mother gets buried in the process, that's just the way it goes.

I hate clutter so I don't fir into the hoarders category Ann....I tend to give it to people who hoard...i like to think of it as my way of giving back to my friends......bet Wade is glad we aren't neighbours!!!!!lol

oh my! I love to see the end product of creativity, but couldn't abide to do the saving of diverse materials.

I can't believe what I have just read on your post. I am at this very minute trying to clear some of the stuff in my craft room, not very successfully I'm afraid.
I keep taking things from the shelves, pondering over them and putting them back. After 1 hour I have 1 small carrier bag filled, not much if you were to see my room.
What to do?, the b room is getting me down every time I go in it but I can't bear to part with even a tiny bit of felt.
HELP!!!!!!

The styrofoam would be great as a pin-board base for some quilling. (I actually had to go out and BUY something similar last week!!)

it looks like a white box in the making from here, if i had some of that i could make a small white box. maybe we could write a show Called Crafters love hoarding. Mother saved everything, from egg containers to boxes burgers came in

A LOT of those hoarders have craft stuff in tubs--lots and lots of tubs. When you start stacking the tubs, you know it is beginning to be a problem.

And then you lose the cat......

(They always lose their cats for some reason)

I saved lots of cereal boxes hopping to make something out of them. But just like you, I need to get past that HOPPING to make something process.

Ha! That is so funny....and true! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who is a crafting hoarder and see's craft potential out of everything...even stuff people call trash!

I think everyone has some form of "hoarder-itis"....I love it

Yea, I see garbage. That is why I am not a crafter. But, I still can't wait to see what you do with it.

Now see, that's the difference between folks like you and me. I see trash, you see the ingredients for something fun, clever and cute...the mind of the mundane versus the creative mind..You win!

It is hard to sometimes remember what you saved some things for.

That's recycle bin stuff Ann, but I'm not crafty so I'd never think of any project with this stuff.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

Oh my ... I'm not even a crafter but I keep this kind of stuff to ... just might need it someday!

I am currently in the process of disposing of hundreds of empty dog food tins which I have been saving for a project. It is a sad day but I have been incredibly brave!

Although I have no proof...just hearsay...I've heard there is a hoarder on our road! After packing up the house in VA, I swore I'd never accumulate again...only stuff I'll use!...:)JP

Uh Oh Ann, now you do have to make something our of the stuff. Can't wait to see what it is. Better get to crafting. Take care.

You are my friend. Hoarders has already stopped by house for my craft supplies:)

And this goes with your comment on my blog today. Gel medium would come in handy with this project.

Hi There, Just stopping by to say HI.... Hope you had a great Valentine's Day. We had a great trip--but it's nice to get home. I'm trying to catch up on some blog posts...

I think that all creative people are sorta like hoarders.. They (you) think of things to do with all of those scraps and pieces. I have a good friend who even keeps Zipper Wrappers --thinking that she'll find some way to use them someday.... ha

Hugs,
Betsy

The problem is the moment you throw it out, you think of something great you could have done with it.
