sweetening things up

In case you didn't notice I made a bit of a change. Not happy with the background but it will do for now. I had to make a new header though to get ready for Valentines day.
I started out with this picture of Duke
Then I used Sandra's  (a.k.a. the madsnapper) tutorial for turning a photo into a pencil sketch. I forgot to save the picture of that but I took the background out of it and left nothing but Duke. Then I saved Duke as a png file and now he can adorn just about anything. I can now easily add him to any header I make.

You did such a good job, it is TOO cute! The sketch of Duke, and his paw prints lead right to the hearts! I also adore the real picture, his sweetest yet!

so there is my little DukeHEART... so precious and you chose a great photo of him to play with i love he way he is holding his chew toy. it came out beautiful. great idea to save him. i have several of baby and jake saved that way that is why the same shots show up on different things, how did you get him to go down the right hand side of the page.

Well, the manly manliness to me will not allow for any pink, but the rest is great!

I always wondered what "png" files were and recently discovered that if you save an image in that format there is no background! Good info...I was looking for animated Valentines Day backgrounds to use on the Alley couldn't find ant that suited but did find one that I thought perfect for Conversations and it will leave it on permanently, or until I get bored with it. I'm always redecorating my blogs...

Now that looks a tasty chew Duke!

What a lovely idea Ann. Some of these prorams are really wonderful. The latest one on paint is good as you can start of with a photo or picture and change it in oh so many ways. Remember the old saying 'a picture never lies' - they didn't anticipate Photoshop etc when they came up with that one did they? Lol!

I keep hoping to find a program to make a very old and tiny photo that is full of dots to form the picture actually be able to somehow clear and produce a sharp image. Haven't found one yet although you can do some amazing things with scratches and tears nowadays.

Well it has stopped snowing .... we're not quite sure how tomorrow will turn out suppose we'll find out in the morning.
