Thank God for leaky fish tanks

My but we have had a time with our aquarium lately. You may remember me telling you about the friend that fell into the tank and it shattered spilling fish and water all over the place. As you may recall, he replaced the aquarium and all was well. Well until it started leaking. We purchased another and just recently I noticed it was leaking again. Yesterday morning Wade was cleaning the tank and it was leaking A LOT. No more tanks from Walmart. He asked if a certain pet store was still in business and I said that it was so we decided to go there to get a new aquarium.

Now it just so happens that the pet store is in the same plaza that we were at Friday night when I lost my glasses. I told Wade that since we were there I would check the areas in the parking lot where we were as well as the two businesses that we had visited. He said that if I did find them they would be crushed.
We had eaten at Pizza Hut so I stopped there. Luck was on my side. I walked in and saw my glasses laying next to their register. When the waitress came up and asked if I was there for a carry out order I explained that I had been there the day before and lost my glasses and told her the ones sitting there looked like mine. She said she couldn't believe how many times they find stuff like that and no one ever comes back for them because they have to know they are missing. I thanked her several times and went on my way singing "I can see clearly now the rain is gone". Wade could not believe my luck. I'm a little amazed at it myself.

That's incredible! Especially since the staff at Pizza Hut didn't put it away but left it right where you could see it!
So happy for you!

Oh you are lucky!

My mother's aquarium is ancient. She got it from the local hospital where she worked...they were going to get rid of it (maybe replace it?) and she was able to take it. Still works, though, it's currently empty.

That was good luck - losing prescription glasses is a total PITA and can get pricey as well...maybe it was a good thing the aquarium leaked...

An amazing story!!!! I leave things in stores all the time and when I go back they are gone! Cheap tanks at Wal-Mart for sure, you need to buy them elsewhere from now on. But hey...where are the fish? What kind do you have?

I am happy for you that you found your glasses - though I must say that The Duke looked very handsome wearing them! Wishing you a cozy, comfortable, take it easy kind of SUNDAY! :<)

Personally, Wal Mart is NOT one of my favorite stores. So, I'm with you all the way there...stop buying at Wal Mart. They always say "You get what you pay for". I'm sure you'll be satisfied with your new aquarium. Love the anchor!!

Oh, and I can't believe it........you found your glasses!!!! You must be livin' right.

Funny how things work out! So happy you found your glasses! Hope this next tank works out for you. I would return the other tank to Wal-mart and get your money back. :)
Happy Sunday Ann!

So glad you managed to recover your glasses. Mine are feather light and have no bottom edge so when I do pop them on I can't feel them at all... I would so hate to lose them as most in the opticians now are heavy jobs!!
I no longer have fish in the fish tank as they grew so much we had to re-house them in the pond!
Hope that you're keeping well across the pond. We have had some remarkable weather over here and are at the moment in the middle of our Royal Jubilee. Everyone on holiday until Wednesday ... and thankfully although it poured with rain for one day, whilst the boats sailed up the Thames, we now have it wonderful again.
Duke looks beautifully groomed ... what a handsome dog he is. :) x

What good luck! How wonderful not to have to go through the expense of replacing them. That leaves money for more fish tanks. ;)
