This isn't a shepherd, and it isn't night and it's not a flock he's keeping watch over.
It's only Gibbs keeping an eye on his turf and making sure any and all passerby know that he's on watch.
On a rare occasion he'll even pose ever so nice but only for one quick one.

There was a cartoon that showed a lady posing her cat with a xmas outfit, only to have it turn and lick itself when she took the shot.
