Further on I found this moss. I love its color.
And finally, I came to the Lupines that are starting to return. These originally came from my dads garden and along with my hydrangea bush, I feel like he's returning to visit me each year when they come back.
Unfortunately for the Lupines, there has been some kind of vine growing in their flower bed and each year it chokes out more of them. At least there are still a few for me to enjoy.

What a wonderful variety! Can you cut parts of the vine out?
the moss is gorgeous, great photo of it.. i love green things as much as flowering plants... it doesn't have to be a flower to be beautiful. even the twigs are pretty to me... so glad your outdoors is springing to greening.
What a special blessing that your dad's lupines return each year. I wonder if you used a pellet-type weed killer to get rid of the vine. Nice to see your forsythia blooms too. Finally some color! Hope you enjoy the day.
I love lupine and think they have the prettiest flowers. I grew them a long time ago but they didn't return. Sweet memories associated with your dad. Maybe you can transplant them to assure they don't get chocked out. I love the moss too.

Since the lupines are so special for you, I know you say you aren't much of a gardener (and I get that because neither am I) perhaps digging out/cutting out that intrusive vine might be easy enough? And maybe propagate some of the lupines elsewhere (https://www.americanmeadows.com/wildflower-seeds/lupine-seeds/how-to-grow-lupine)?
Better get rid of that vine or transfer your treasured Lupines. Hope the vine isn'\t 3 leaves let it be.
I know how wonderful it is for you to see some SPRING...... I love it --and we are seeing more evidence of it here also.... Love Forsythia blooms!!!!! Get rid of that vine---or it will take over.

Forsythia is one of my favorite. I can even spell it without looking it up! Yellow is my favorite color. We don't have them in CA but for 38 years I loved them in Illinois. I need to get me some fake ones!
