A tiny bit festive

Yesterday I meant to be totally lazy and lay around doing nothing. It started out that way but then I must have got bored. I gathered up all the fall decorations and put them away then I pulled the Christmas tree out of the crawl space and set it up

I didn't put any ornaments on it yet. Amanda will come over today and do that. This one is pre-lit with all white lights but I like the color too so I added a couple strings of colored lights.

Then I pulled out a couple table runners and some Christmasy pillows.

I also have a beautiful new quilt laying over the back of my couch that was sent by my sweet blog friend Katie. She makes the nicest quilts along with pillow cases, stuffed toys and she has clothed many American girl dolls over the years. Thanks you so much Katie, I really love it. It will keep me warm on those cold winter nights.

I also started on a project that I saw on Pam's blog but I don't have it finished yet. I'm actually not sure if I'm going to do mine just like the one she had or if I'm going to do something a little different. Look for that coming soon.

That's a big tree! Ours were always small, but now I scarcely decorate for Christmas -- way too lazy and too much else going on now that we have slowed down. Everything takes forever, it seems. It's fun to watch what other people do, though.

the tree looks beautiful without the ornaments. I did not notice they were not there until I read your post. now I am dying to know what you are doing that Pam did. I see all her things and I am pondering which one you are doing. hurry please.. holding my breath while waiting.. I love that quilt. it would be beautiful in my house, hint hint. I always put my 2 little trees up the day after TG and the glass in the nook. I have not touched it. might not put it up. I might just put out angels. my DIL sent me an Avon Christmas angel, soon to show up in a post.. there, now you have something to wait for.

Wow, that's a big tree! I do 'small' these days. So far, I just have the creche set up, no Nativity figures, just the creche that my dear husband made many, many years ago for our little figurines we bought while living in Spain.

What a wonderful gift your quilt is.

Have a lovely Sunday and a great week ~ FlowerLady

Looking good Ann and with the lights on the tree doesn't need ornaments. Do you think there was a mad rush over to Pam's to see what caught your eye and that you intend to make, lol. And another rush over to Katie's to see her lovely creations. Thanks for the side trips this morning.

What a lovely thing to do - make you a quilt ( a quilt!!). If decorating for the season makes you happy, then go for it - all of it! Deck the halls!

On my Pam blog? HAHA....I think I know what you are doing cause of your comment on mine. Can't wait to see what you do. I was given two of those small thingys (not saying the name so people don't get an idea)...I did one last yr for my sis in law and of course this one was for my daughter. Now....I will need to locate some more small ones for anymore I want to make. Love the tree. I had a good day yesterday and with help I was able to get mine up although I debated for weeks, not sure if I wanted to put Christmas up but I would be depressed if I did not do it.

Your tree is beautiful, even without ornaments. It is the perfect size and shape, and is nice and full. I love the Let It Snow pillow!

Oh how pretty, Ann! Your house looks so festive and cozy! I have yet to get out my Christmas stuff. We'll see if that happens next week or not. Can't wait to see the new craft project all finished. Lovingly, Andrea xoxo

This one is actually smaller than the one I used to have. I decided to downsize a bit last year. It does seem to get harder to do every year and putting it all away again is even worse than dragging it all out

LOL, did you hit a lot of traffic on your way to Pam's. Hopefully I can get what I'm working on done soon

IT was very nice of her and such a great surprise.
I'm beginning to wonder why I should even bother decorating because I'm the only one who's going to see any of it.

I think you have it figured out. I've seen so many things on your blog that I would love to make but most of the time just don't I was feeling crafty for a bit yesterday though. So far I've only painted it but not sure if I'm liking how I did that.

I used to have a much bigger tree. I like this one because it's slimmer and doesn't take up as much room

I think the festive mood is kind of over but it's still early. I have plenty of time

Most of my stuff is still in the crawl space and I haven't had the ambition to pull it all out yet. I'm in no hurry, I'm likely the only one who will see any of it any way

You do it for yourself!
