I can dish it out but I don't know if I can take it.

When I showed the Christmas decorations yesterday I forgot about putting up my snowmen plates.

I have this plate rack hanging on my wall and it normally holds plates that have chickadees on them. When I put out the Christmas decorations I change over to the snowmen plates.

And speaking of snow, I saw this forecast on Facebook.

Along with the above, it said:
FIRST WARNING WEATHER: The snow machine is going to be running Monday night through Wednesday. Significant accumulations are possible, especially in the snowbelt.

The temperatures I can handle although I won't like it. The significant accumulation is what worries me. I don't know if I can handle doing all that shoveling. I suppose if my driveway gets too bad I can always say the heck with it, leave the vehicle in the driveway and just walk to work.

I love your snowman plates, Ann. They're darling! Yes, you be careful if you do any shoveling! Yes, walk if you can but even then, please be careful where you walk! I'm a worry wart sometimes, I know. :-/ But it does sound like the snow machine IS getting ready to ramp up in your area too. I'm sitting here at my computer and it's a bit past midnight... I can heard the big raindrop falling on the roof & the wind is really howling. The drops sound so heavy like maybe they're starting to freeze. It's right at 36 degrees and I'm praying it stays up there so maybe we won't get the snow that's predicted. The snow seems to be starting earlier than usual this season. Love, Andrea xoxo

LOVE the plates! HATE the snow!

You can walk to work? I had it pictured in my head you were miles from work.

I bought the plates years ago at the dollar store I think. I was working part time at Dollar General and every time a new snowman item came in they were always pointing them out to me.
I'm really hoping that the forecast is wrong.

Thanks. I've had them for years and every winter they goup

Me too. The older I get the more I hate snow.
Yes, I can walk to work. It's roughly a half mile. So why don't I walk to work all the time? Because I'm lazy...lol There are a lot of morning when I think I will but then I look at the time and realize I waited too long. Then I think about the walk back home at the end of the day and decide I just don't want to.

Your plates look nice in the rack and they give a festive air for your Christmas holidays.

I didn't realize you lived that close to where you work, that's great, no long commute for you.

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady

well the good news is, the snowmen will not melt off the plates....😉😉😉 that is a really sad forecast... we were just looking at the news and saw all that snow up there.. my friend in WI said the same thing, no driving . she went to store yesterday and she said it looked like people were expecting a hurricane, with empty shelves... sorry that snow is coming at you.

I can walk to Publix and for the same reason, I don't. if I get there and buy what I want then I HAVE to walk home...

Your snowman plates are quite lovely! Being able to walk to work sure beats constant shoveling to get the car out. ^^

Ahh, I love those snowman plates! Walking TO work might be nice but after spending all day on your feet I expect walking home might not be such an attractive idea but it is good that you can walk if you have to, given the kind of winter weather you have in your part of the world. In nice weather a bike might be fun.

Love your Christmas plates. Very pretty.

I can't imagine having to shovel snow just to get to work. I just can't. I'm too old for that.

Have a fabulous day off, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I used to have a plate rack too, but with the change in the kitchen, I lost some wall space. It had to go. I like your plates--very cute!

I know money is tight, but maybe you can find a little used snow blower online. Maybe freecycle?? or Craigs list?? We bought a small snow blower years ago so that I could use it. It takes a little effort to do the whole driveway, but at least I could get out. Walking wouldn't be bad though.

Cute Christmas plates! The forecast is pretty ugly though! It might take less time to walk to work than shoveling the driveway and cleaning off the car although it'd be mighty chilly! I find walking in snow peaceful though. Unless the wind is blowing then it's horrible! LOL!

Oh gosh, I hope this doesn't happen! I'm thinking of a snow blower, but that may not work if the snow is heavy and wet. When this happens, people come around here with shovels knocking on doors. They are looking to make some money, and we usually let someone do it. I have snowman plates up in my kitchen! They are kind of like yours, only three instead of four.

Being close is convenient but also on those days when people are calling off because of weather I'm too close to use that excuse

Ann Thompson said...

That is exactly what keeps me from walking most times, the walk home

Ann Thompson said...

Yeah, the shoveling really sucks

Ann Thompson said...

I'll have to keep muy eyes out for a snow blower

Ann Thompson said...

It takes me about 10 minutes to walk so way less time than shoveling. It is peaceful too but you are right about the wind

I've had kids offer to shovel but I'm just too cheap to pay for it
