A day off with a view

I decided to spend part of my day off doing something that I don't normally do. I took a little drive and visited a park that is not too far from my house. It's about a 20 minute drive.

This park is located right along Lake Erie. There are no beaches that I saw but the views are breathtaking. I parked and walked up towards a very nice picnic pavilion.

There were a few cars there but not many. It was peaceful and totally beautiful.

I would have to say I love this park

You are high above the lake and in most places you can't get a good look down but this spot allowed me to get rather close. There are places marked all along the bluff warning you not to get closer to the edge.

I took lots of pictures while I was there so this will be a 3 part post. More coming tomorrow.

It is beautiful! Lake Erie is a big deal, and this is the only way I will ever get to see it. How often do you go?

I'm so glad you did that! And that you are sharing it with us.

I'm sure this must have done a lot to lift your spirits, you should do more.

I did not realize you are that close to Lake Erie. This looks like a beautiful peaceful place to visit... there is something about big expanses of water and trees that sooths our souls... good idea and glad you treated your self and us to a park visit.

I see you were looking afar to Canada on your outing too. Nice that you are close by the Lake. Well maybe not for weather affect snows ;)
It's a bit more of a drive for us.

Wouldn't it be even more lovely if this were in walking distance - next time pack a picnic and a book...

Yes, it really did

That I was. I am pretty close and yet I don't go very often. I really would like to make more trips there.

That is an excellent idea. I'll have to make sure to do that before it starts getting cold

It sure is.

walking seems a good way to lift the spirits...we were just talking about that today at my knit/stitch group AND I know I must do more; but as my friend commented winter time isn't the best option (I'm in New Zealand) where it has been raining a lot of late along with the cold wind we get from the South Pole...

It was like a little piece of heaven on earth

I've always enjoyed walking but once the cold weather hits I don't like to go out. I tend to get too lazy. This year I haven't even been walking in the summer. Too hot...lol

Totally agree, I loved this place
