In the hoop

I made some ornaments on Monday using some small wood embroidery hoops. On my cricut machine I cut out some woodland animals from a white glitter iron on vinyl and then ironed them on to my favorite black and red check fabric.

I finished them off with some fake greenery and a couple red berriies. I also covered the back with a piece of heavy card stock covered in Christmas scrapbook paper. I was hoping in the close up you would be able to see the glitter on the white vinyl but it didn't show up.

I love the looks of these. I ony had 3 of the small hoops though. I have some that are a little larger but I would like to have more this size. They are about 3"

I love that buffalo check too and these came out so nice! You're really getting things done my friend. I can't wait to get back to crafting! Hugs!

Embroidery hoops make a good basis for a wide variety of creative projects. From actual embroidered sayings to pressed flowers - I've bought a few such items from Etsy as gifts and they were well received by the recipients - they are easy to hang and display. So you may find other creative uses for them. (I am thoroughly unfond of plaid so I'll pass on these, charming tho they are.)

Very nicely done. I would hang them on my tree if we ever put up a tree. You're so clever and talented.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and an extra treat for Gibbs. ♥♥♥

These are so cool. Farmhouse chic!! I think I can see some of the glitter in the first picture; third one down. So your tree is up? Will you decorate it all with your handmade ornaments?

CheerfulMonk the buffalo plaid is a perfect match to a wildlife theme

Sheryl, thank you. I had fun making them

Anni thanks.

Grace, you're right, I've seen lots of differet things done with embroidery hoops. That's probably why for a while I was picking them up when I spotted them in thrift shops really cheap. For some reason I've always loved the look of buffalo plaid.

Sandee I've threatened to not put up a tree but I do every year

Ginny No my tree isn't up yet. I have a small one that was stored in a closet and I pulled it out to hang the ornaments on for the picture. No tree goes up here until after the Thanksgiving turkey has been eaten.

Thanks Reeni. I would love to find more hoops so I can do more. I also have a squirrel and a fox cut out if I can find more hoops
