Hot plate project

I finished up a project that took me far too long to do. This is a glass hot plate from Dollar Tree with a vinyl design on the back side of it. Cutting the design and applying the design were not a problem. Weeding the design took me forever. Weeding is picking out all the little pieces that you want out. All those blank spaces had to have vinyl removed from them. This can get quite tedious.

In this picture I have the hot plate on a dark dinner plate so that the design shows up better. There are a couple mistakes here but I'm not going to point them out.

Here it is using my backdrop from yesterday and a cute little owl

And another view from above

It is beautiful! I don't know when you posted the earlier one, but I never saw it till now. That is a good idea for a perfect backdrop!

I love how your new backdrop works...a perfect display area. Your work looks like lace...love it (and of course, the owl is hootin'!)

Oh, that is so pretty and intricate. I really do love this. I cannot see anything wrong so just call it a personal design element.

Love the hot plate! Love the color! Lovett with the owl! And really love your white background. I did find a white sheet but it's too wrinkled to use and I don't want to iron it besides which I don't have anything to sit on it to take a picture of

This is very pretty. I was a little confused by your description of a 'hot plate' - this is what I call a trivet ( something you put a hot pot or plate on to protect the counter or table). I can see where you might have over weeded but that's just my over picky eye, if you hadn't mentioned it I probably would have never noticed it! I do love the color!

CheerfulMonk, thanks

Ginny, Thank you. I'm hoping the backdrop will be more convenient than the tablecloth

Anni thanks. I thought the owl looked perfect with the color of the vinyl

Grace, I never even thought of that when I was writing the post but yes, trivet would be the correct word. A hot plate is one of those single burner cooking units. Actually the part that you are seeing as over weeded is the goof up but it was from the transfer tape. The vinyl stuck to it and pulled that section out and stretched it beyond repair.

Sandee, thank you

Andrea, Yep, I sure did. There is another design that I might try that I think is identical to this but you pull out the opposite pieces

Very nice. What a great way to decorate the plain glass.
