Friday
Friday I came home from work and there were three boys riding four wheelers in the empty lot next to my house. They were riding through that lot and into the back lot of the doctor's office that is behind me. They had already created a nice muddy track. Now I hate to be a spoilsport but I couldn't help myself. I called the doctor's office to let them know. Shortly after a couple of the women from the doctor's office came out and asked the boys not to ride there anymore. You can see the track they created about the middle of the picture below.
For the next hour or so they rode straight up and down in the empty lot.The father knew they were riding their as a matter of fact I even saw him talking to them at one point through the from the door. I honestly don't understand why he let them do this on property that wasn't his own.

Well, at least it wasn't on someone's property, like the doctor's office (thanks to you). Of course someone maybe owns the empty lot, but less harm can be done there. Their Dad really should find an appropriate place for them. And WHY even let them have those four wheelers if there is no good place to ride them there??
In the past there would have been boys playing baseball in that empty lot. Bob said he grew up playing baseball and empty lots and football and all kinds of ball. I agree with Jenny if you're going to have those four wheelers you need to have a place to ride them
I wonder who the lot belongs too. I would not be real happy finding it torn up like that.
I'd be calling cops! That's just all kinds of wrong.
What is wrong with people?!?!?!
I agree, they shouldn't be riding them on private property unless they own it!
Maybe the dad didn't want any tracks on HIS property.
I agree with Cynthia! The dad probably didn't want them making mud tracks on his property! Nice that you let the doctors office know.
Because dear, they are raised differently then we were. We could ride our bikes out in the road, and in our drive, HOWEVER, we were not to ride in anyone else drive. When my kids were young they were taught to ride in anyone elses drive. Most go in behind the house and I feared that they would be back there riding, shoot off down the drive to the street and the owner coming in from work and not seeing them.....
Holy toledo, that is absolute IGNORANCE on the part of that parent, to let the boys right on the land like that, to make deep gouges. Too bad you don't know the name & phone number of the owner of that lot. I would have given them a call too, in hopes their reaction would be the same as the doctor's office. The types of folks who let their children do this type of damage to other people's property are the same type of folks who hunt on other people's property without asking permission. *gawd* ~Andrea xoxo
I (we) would be very annoyed. Unfortunately people have no respect for others or their property...very sad and VERY ANNOYING...jp
This makes me angry. People take what they think is theirs or use/destroy someone else's property so theirs isn't damaged. We are going to a very dangerous place in this country when peo0ple believe they have the "right" to things that belong to others. And the police have no power to stop them. God help us.
You did the right thing, Ann.
These must be the same boys that ride their bikes on the trail in my local park. The park that the rules state no bikes on the trail! And of course when I point out this rule, clearly their home training shows just how little they had. Parents are even worse, "who am I, the bike police"? I point out that I do not want them to run into to me with their bikes. What is wrong with people? SMH
That's a shame about the father, he's doing a lousy job of raising the boys. ☹️
I'm glad you called!
