Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday. I am feeling a little better. I guess hanging out on the couch for 2 days helped. I did a lot of laying around and drank a boatload of hot tea. I also took several doses of cold medicine.
Now to answer a few questions from yesterdays post.
Liz said Would you even have been able to get to work in that snow? It is way outside my experience!
Around here yes, it would take a lot more snow than this to keep people from going anywhere.
Ginny asked When can you retire, and will you as soon as you can?
I suppose that I could retire this year since I will be 62 in March. While I would like to retire then, I'm greedy and want to wait to get more in SSI. I'm thinking I would like to wait until I'm 65 at least.

Yes, it's true that you get more money if you wait longer to retire. I am so glad you are feeling better, and were able to stay home and rest! Your photo looks like a modernistic painting.
I retired three times, went back after the first two, but now definitely retired and I can honestly say, Retirement is the best job I've ever had!
I retired in 2017...Larry, 2016. I had a hard time of it. Don't think I was really ready but Larry said we would enjoy our time together...we have but...I hated not working for several years. I now have accepted it now, lolol...but make SURE you're actually ready to let the money and activity go. I believe I waited until 67.
hugs
Donna
I dont like getting out in that type of weather... it since I broke my leg in 2018!
I think you are making the right decision. I retired at 62 and wish i had waiting to 65. I have enjoyed it but that money makes a huge difference just for waiting 3 years. glad you fee l better
I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. These viruses are not fun. The photo is so pretty but I wouldn't like to have to go out in that weather. I spent 20 years in Florida and we usually don't get a lot of snow here so I am NOT someone that needs to be driving in that. lol
I'm glad you are feeling better now! I retired at 63 and never looked back! Luckily I worked at a place that gave me good retirement benefits. I still like to work part time though. It gets me out of the house and keeps me interacting with people!
67 is now the full retirement age - and if you can wait until 70 you hit the jackpot. Unless you have another source of income definitely wait until 67 - check the social security web site to see what your benefits will be at various ages...the differences can be significant.
Wow! It's not just me, it's the whole country that tends to come to a halt if we get a smidgin of snow! We are not prepared for it.
Snow is pretty, but I'm not fond of driving in the snow.
Have a fabulous day off, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥
Glad you're feeling a bit better. Rest is the best thing.
Here in TN we have seen more snow than normal at one given time, but the freezing temps has kept that from melting from the roads. I think we are all pretty much over it here. Could I get to work in this mess....NOPE. Would I want to even try....NOPE. What would you do with your time if you retired? I retired at 56, just cause I could! lol...I had the years in with my job and my health was making going to work hard. I had plans, but the health thing seems to have made those plans none doable so far. I will be 64 in Feb. which makes me being retired for eight years.
Glad you are feeling better. I think that waiting until you are 65 is a good idea and actually it keeps you busy. I think I got lazy when I stopped working. That is a lot of snow.
So glad you are feeling better. So glad you could rest and relax and not have to go into work. I think you are wise to hang on and work as long as you can. You'll know when the time is right.
