Everyone loves a parade.

Is there anyone who doesn't like a parade? There's no denying that the big parades are quite a show but the turnout for a small town parade is always impressive.

All parades go up my street and pass right by my house. People start lining up early.

The anticipation builds when you start to hear the marching band playing. Then on the horizon, you see it coming.

Before you know it, the parade is over but not before plenty of candy has been thrown and little ones scramble to pick up all the pieces.

So do you always watch all of it? Sit in a lawn chair out front, or look from your window? That is so cool! How many different ones are there in a year?

Love the pictures, Ann. The town where I grew up had a parade just like this that lined up in front of our house. I remember the deafening noise of the fire truck etc - my cat would run and hide for hours!

the last parade I saw was in Savannah the year I graduated, 1962. we have them here but I don't like crowds and they have more than 10,000 watching it clogging our streets and closing the road to the beaches for 4 hours. I have never seen one that had floats in them, just marching people and horses.. if one came by my house I would watch it though. and snap myself silly.

I'm not so big on parades, but I am a sucker for a marching band ANYTIME! :)

I used to go when I was young, now I just stay home. It's the heat, the crowds and no comfortable place to sit. I did enjoy them in my youth though.

Have a fabulous day. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I must say you are lucky to have the parade go right by your house!

That is cool that the parades go past your home....that way you don't have to get out and go to them! NICE.

I think of you each time I take a picture of a snake. I was about 3 feet away.
