Just to let everyone know, Friday I went to urgent care to have my eye checked. First I tried my doctors office back and was told "I'm so sorry but no one is in the office today." Then I tried the place where I get my eye exams for glasses. I was told the same thing, the doctor was out of the office until Tuesday. Both women that I talked to said they thought I probably had scratched my eye and should go to the emergency room.
I opted for urgent care since it was the closest. I was in and out very quickly and only was away from work for an hour and fifteen minutes. The doctor there looked at my eye. I told him I had taken an allergy pill in the morning and it had helped with the watering. His conclusion was that it was allergy related. He then told me I could either continue with the allergy pill and using the anti-itch eye drops or he could write me a prescription for antibiotic eye drops. His words were "It's up to you, I don't care either way, I'm indifferent." He didn't say it in a mean way but was a strange thing to say. I opted to have him write me the prescription.
I'm writing this on Saturday and at this time I'm not 100% but it does feel a whole lot better. I chose to not read blogs again just to take some extra time away from the screen. Not to mention I don't have anything to blog about any way. I'm probably end up with a huge reading list. I may or may not get to them all.

Oh gosh, what a strange thing for the doctor to say. He could at least have said what choice he would make if it were him. Try to rest your eyes as much as you can now.
Thank you for letting us know. I'm glad you got the antibiotic drops just in case. I wish the doctor had been more supportive, but at least you found someone to look at your eye. Please just take a break and rest.
I do think that was a strange thing to say. DO NOT worry about what you missed on my blog...it is not worth messing with your eye. Just let it recover.
Hope the Rx helps. All your regular doctors were not in? On a Friday? Thank goodness for Urgent care (at least you may get some relief).
I think you should have a specialist look at it just to be sure.
Hope anothers night sleep has made it even better. You are probably at work by now, hope the day is not crazy from holiday orders and the eye feels better by the hour. glad you got the RX I would have chosen that route to but might have had a run in with the doctor. I am betting he was YOUNG
Oh my word, Ann.... I hate it when a doctor says "it's probably". You could have guessed as much and don't need a degree to know a "probably". *sigh* It sure doesn't sound like allergies to me but I hope it's either gone by Tuesday or you get to see the eye doctor. You're still in my prayers. Oh, I think you were smart in getting the prescription when offered too. ~Andrea xoxo
Unique wording of the doctor. I'm glad you decided to get the prescription. I know you'll continue to keep an eye on it (no pun intended lol) and check in with your doctor/optometrist Tuesday if you don't have an improvement. In the meantime, wise to rest the eyes as much as possible.
betty
I would still set an appt. with your eye doctor asap since that's his speciality and has the equipment to look into the eye more throughly.
That does sound like an odd thing for the doctor to say.
Glad to hear your eye is improving!
Resting your eye sounds like a good idea.
I'm glad you went to Urgent Care and happy to hear that it is getting better. That was definitely an odd thing for him to say. ((Hugs))
Eye issues can be a pain in the .......well, the eye! I know you were waiting for it. I am hoping that you are feeling a lot better today. I have heard a lot of folks say this yr with the pollen has been horrible. I do know that it has affected me rougher than normal but its nice to know that its not just me. I was out for 20 mins today helping my nieces hub as his sous chef on the grill and I have been itching since. Just took an allergy pill cause I can't take it anymore and about to jump in the shower....wash the pollen away.
That was a weird thing for that doctor to say! I like urgent cares though! In and out and give me a prescription! I'm glad the eye drops are helping
Maybe a rest from the screen is a good idea, we all should do it now and then. God bless you dear friend, and take care of yourself. If it doesn't get better, find a doctor that cares and drop that one.
Sounds like going to the Urgent Care was a good idea. I hope by the time you read this, you're doing better. I need to get you added to my blog list. Thought I had already done that, but apparently forgot to, so had to go search for your comment so I could find my way back here.

Here's hoping and praying that your get better soon.
Extra time away from the screen sounds like the right move. I'm sorry about your eye. Sending healing wishes.
That was a very strange comment coming from a doctor!!! Hoping this feels much better than it did.
