So the plumbing issue that I thought was fixed ended up not fixed. Saturday when I went to take a shower there was a steady stream of hot water coming from the tap. I texted the plumber but he said he was out on the lake at the time. From Saturday around 4:00pm until Monday at around 9:30am I was a stressed out wreck. My anxiety had kicked into overdrive. I do not like not being in control of things. Even though the rational side of my brain tells me to calm down and things will work out one way or the other, the irrational side wins the battle.
I texted the plumber at 7:30 Monday morning and promptly at 8:00 he responded. He asked if I was off and said he would be in touch. An hour and a half later he texted to say he was on the way.
The tub is now fixed again and a new shutoff valve installed in case I have further issues. Now I can shut off just the tub and not go into a panic shutting off all the water and killing the gas to the water tank.
While he was working I put Gibbs outside because there's just no other place for him to go that he wouldn't be in the way. Of course if you put Gibbs outside by himself he's going to bark non stop. I told the plumber I would be outside with the dog to keep him quiet. We went out and sat under the tree and I read while the plumber worked.

Gibbs looks pretty content sitting there :) I hope this fix works this time and you won't have to be texting the plumber again! That would make me anxious until things were working again so I can understand how you were feeling over the past few days. Hope the book was a good one you got to read outside :)
betty
I'm so sorry about the plumbing problems. I hope they're over now.
Awww, think he wants you around him whenever you are home!
Dang...wonder why he didn't fix it right the first time?!! Love seeing Gibbs.
Happy Dance it is repaired, I too no about anxiety attacks when things are 'beyond my control'. Yay for the cut off valve. I can tell you if i had to sit outside while the plumber was inside that would be added anxiety. Gibbs, you look so sweet and cut and "innocent" . Like butter wouldn't melt in your barking mouth. I was about to say lock him in the basement but then thought about he had to go to up and downstairs to work. I want to say here, in public, I am so sick of dealing with repair people and pharmacys and doctors through text. I want the old call on the phone and get a live person. I always feel like I can't trust a text
Did he say what happened this time? Sometimes fixing one thing leads to another. I hope it is fixed permanently this time.
We have a shut-off valve to ever single water line on the place. Anything Roger fixed, or added, he put one in. It is just too hard to have to shut off all the water when something happens.
Ugh! I hope it's fixed this time! Hi to cutie Gibbs!
So sorry to hear of your stressful situation. Hope it's now resolved. At least some of the day was enjoyable... reading and hanging out with Gibbs!!
Yeah, that would be very stressful to me too. Especially sitting outside, not knowing if you are going to get good news or bad news. I hate that. And wondering how much this repair is going to cost. Ugh. Nice that he put on a turn off valve at the shower so you have options. Let's hope it's DONE now!
So cute
Yikes on that plumber issue. I would be stressed out too.
Gibbs is a great supervisor. They all are.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥
I hope it's fixed now. However, the shut off valve is a great idea. Our Skye wasn't a barker but Amber's dog never stops! Cute picture of Gibbs.
Man so much trouble with this!! Maybe you should have a new plumber!!
Glad you got to sit outside and read. :)
Keeping my fingers crossed for you, no more plumbing issues. Gibbs must have appreciated your company. I hope you got some relaxation while sitting outside.
