When they came to pick it up I said I had to know the story behind chicken. All she said was that her daughter's nickname is chicken. Her husband did add that when she was a baby they called her goose. I should have asked what made them call her that.

Good grief, the mystery deepens!! But such a pretty girlie cake!
It really makes you wonder how she got the nickname goose or chicken.
well it seems the mother is not a Chatty Cathy. If you asked me why the chicken, the story would have been so long you would have burned the stuff in the oven. dad's have a way of giving daughters nicknames. Mine was and still is, Samar. When Bob gets excited or upset, he always yells Samar, Samar.. I wanted to me a boy, Sam did not work for daddy, thus Samar. I prayed daily until I was 10 or 12 to turn into a boy but gave it up when I realized it would never happen. huummm maybe I should list all the things about me that are more like a male than a female...
Awww...that's very cute. I think "goose" may come from "silly goose"...just a guess. We have a friend whose dad calls her goose as well. Don't most people get a silly name at some point? Emma is "Emu", which is just a silly way we'd say her name. Colin is "Ky Ky"...he used to say he had a brother named "Kyle". Who knows why. Do you call your kids silly names?
Hi Talented One.... HA HA ---Love the cake but cannot imagine anyone's nickname being CHICKEN.... People are funny, aren't the????
Hugs,
Betsy
Chicken isn't that unusual a nickname, I don't think. But embarrassing having it on a cake though!
Oh that's a pretty cake! I love that color combination, border and the pretty flowers. Interesting story there :)
That's definitely different!!!
The cake is lovely even with that odd name. :)
That is a beautiful cake...I want more if the story too but dont suppose we will ever know.
It's a beautiful cake, but I wish the mother had told us more.
