It's about time

Yes, it's all about time. We either have too much time on our hands or not enough. In my case it's usually not enough. There are just too many things I want to spend my time doing and being an employed person really gets in the way. I think I need a vacation.
If you had more time to spend on the things you enjoy most, what would you be doing today?

I love this thought Ann... Im not employed but I do have seven lil ones at home ... I think if i could do anything in the whole world with just a smidgen of my time it would be one uninterrupted hour ALONE in our home just talking with my hubby...

We're retired so we do what we want to do for the most part. We've found that we are busier than ever. Now we are busy with things we really want to do. So if you aren't careful you'll be busier than you were when you were working. Nice thing is you can take a break when you want one.

Have a terrific day. :)

I'd like to get more than six horses of sleep for a change. Ok, I'll stop houring around.

Yes, I too find have a steady reliable "puts roof over head and food on the table" job keeps me from doing a fair amount of stuff I rather be doing.

Work on playing guitar, work on repairing the other guitar I got off of ebay, make more ceramic instruments, write, paint, chase the cat around the apartment (yes I have a cat in spite of being a dog person, a major city is no place for a dog to be fully happy) - those are on the top of the list...

At this point in time, I am not working 9 to 5. I basically do what I want each day. Yeah, I know it sounds like I'm bragging but after working 30 years I am now in a position where I don't have to work for a little while so I'm taking advantage of it. I write, I blog, I travel when I can and I'm enjoying life to the fullest right now.

I also feel the same way as you do Ann. Being employed I need to work 8 hours a day for 5 days in a week. 2 rest days every week is not enough for me to give myself a real time to relax and to accomplish lots of things. Well, I am with you. We both need a VACATION. :D

If I could escape my 9 to 5 job - I'd spend some days cleaning, painting and organizing my work room. Not so much because I'd like cleaning, painting and organizing but because I'd love what I could do in a clean, painted, organized craft room!

Note: Just re-posting because my link to my previous comment is broken. Thanks for the consideration.

I wish I had more time to spend fixing my craft room and blogging :)
It's not to much to ask is it?

Ann, I'm with you 100% I have way more I want to do than time to do it.

Reading and writing! That's what I'd be doing!

I wish I had more time. I would be out hiking and looking for wildlife if I had more time. I do that already just to give myself the illusion of having enough time.

I'm very lucky that I have the fay off work today but there still won't be enough time to do everything. The 'Mum' stuff never stops so there is always that to do and although I don't mind I sometimes wish i had a magic wand to suspend time for just s littlw hile so I could get a bit more done. If there were to be enough hours in the day today I would dig over the allotment, sort out the new raspnerry cane structure, put in the peas, erect the posts for the runner beans, finish knitting my jumper, finsih crocheting that square, finish reading those three books on my night stand, wrap my nephews birthday present, clean the windows inside and out, get the ironing done....oh the list is endless as it always is and in time it will get done but as always you get up the next day and the list has a few more things added and so never gets any shorter...but hey, you never hear me complaining that i am bored...I sure wish I had the time to be bored,,,it would be nice!!!

I would end writing my novella! But I'll try and write some sentences today. Thanks for sharing, Ann, I can identify :)

I am retired but still can not find the time to do every thing I want to.Plus I am on a fixed income so there are restrictions.
But it is nice to be able to say the hell with it all and take the day off. Do it tomorrow.

If I could spend time today on what I enjoy most, I would be strolling along a far away beach ... soaking up sunshine, feeling the warmth, relishing the peace & freedom. Ahhhhh, felt good just thinking about it.

This sounds kind of sad but I have so much on my plate that I can't even think what I would like to do. I have dreamed for several years about a trip to England with my husband and youngest daughter. THAT would be really nice!

My site would probably be up and running by now ;-)

Sleeping. I think I need to catch up on some sleep. That's why I caught this dang cold!
But I would love to just get some of the things that I have started, finished, completed. Get more jewellery done and try to sell it. Take better pics.
You are asking interesting questions, Ann!

I know it's hard to be employed; your time and strength are limited. But I sure need the money. I am getting deeper into debt every week that I don't find any extra employment or sell something in my shops.

Hugs,
Anna

I have the time now but not the resources because I'm unemployed! It's always something, right? I would be sewing, blogging, reading. Oh I am doing that today. And If i had money , I would be traveling as well.

I would be out taking pictures. it's so hard being cooped up in my office when the sky is blue and there are so many pictures to be taken. Someday we will be living the dream, right?

Working does get in the way of life, doesn't it? Ugh. I'm catching up on all my blog reading today because I have the time--well in between all those pre-colonoscopy trips to the potty. Fun times, fun times.

I have the same thought at least ten times a day! Being creative takes lots of time. Any extra I have is spent making jewelry or cooking or blogging.

I am not employed either, but homeschool our daughter and teach a ladie's Bible study. I would sit on the swing on the front porch today, it is so beautiful out...but spent it with a friend who is struggling. God is good ALL the time!

Ann said...

honey b, oh my with 7 little ones who would have time to work? you have a tougher job than I do. I can imagine that alone time with your husband is very rare

sandee maybe some day I'll get to retire, hopefully before I'm too old to enjoy it...lol

donna well pack your bags and we'll go together

alesa lol love the word play there. A guitar player huh? I bought my husband one a couple years ago, he's working on learning it.

poetic shutterbug lucky you I would brag too. I've been working about 34 years now minus 4years when my daughter was born, I am so ready to give it up but my creditors demand I continue...lol

junezach I agree 2 days off doesn't cut it. You me and donna should just pack up and take off

marie ah yes a clean, painted and organized craft room with all that open space to mess up again sounds like fun

junezach, no problem :)

audrey I don't think it is, sounds like the perfect way to spend time to me

dkmiller it really stinks doesn't it...lol

bossy betty I don't read so much anymore, it always puts me to sleep when I sit down with a book. but at least it's relaxing :)

Ratty your answer doesn't surprise me one bit. I should have guessed.

allotments4you wow you've got some list and I thought I had a lot of things on mine

fullet I think we all can. good luck on that novella

fishhawk, oh come on, inquiring minds want to know what the fish would do

grampy work and income always have a way of ruining a good time don't they.

vickie that sounds like a little bit of heaven, want someone to go along with you? I'm willing :)

ldh you want to hear something really sad? I've never even been on a real vacation like that. I would love to go somewhere for a whole week at the least and just relax and enjoy the sites

duni I'm sure you'll get it going before long

anna, ah yes sleep, there isn't enough time for that either I also have lots of projects started but never finished

buggys yep, you're right, always something. Why can't we just have it ALL

lenox knits I know what you mean, luckily I can't see out any windows while I'm at work or I would be daydreaming about being outside way more.

lin oh poor you, I feel for ya

cinnamon girl you know every time I sit down to make something, I have an idea in my head but to get it all worked out into something seems to take me forever.

kim sitting on the front porch swing sounds like a very relaxing way to spend a day.
