A real dandy

“It gives one a sudden start in going down a barren, stony street, to see upon a narrow strip of grass, just within the iron fence, the radiant dandelion, shining in the grass, like a spark dropped from the sun”

Henry Ward Beecher quotes (Liberal US Congregational minister, 1813-1887)

This is a combination of three pictures. I gave the top layer more of a drawing type look and then blended in the other two pictures.

Now a couple more quotes I found.

“You cannot forget if you would those golden kisses all over the cheeks of the meadow, queerly called dandelions.”

Henry Ward Beecher quotes (Liberal US Congregational minister, 1813-1887)

“If dandelions were hard to grow, they would be most welcome on any lawn.”

That almost looks like a cartoon! Very pretty I like the colors and the fuzziness and that little bit of sharpness ...Nice work! (And I happen to LIKE dandelions)

I guess that I can say I'm a Master Gardener, because I don't even try to grow them, yet they sprout-up everywhere.

Love the editing you do! I have very fond memories of dandelions--bringing them to my grandmother who treated them as though they were the finest roses.

Thanks for renewing this memory!

When we were kids we would never pick the dandelions as we believed if we did we would wet the bed...not sure where this came from....maybe our parents who were sick of having dandelion posies presented to them...lol....of course it was just an old wives tale and i have to admit to repeatedly picking the dandelions out of my allotment....they are pretty and have a purpose ..just not in my veg patch!!!!!

I do love the pic you did though....

I love it, Ann. What a wonderful creation. For me, dandelions are exceptionally beautiful. They are poetic in their essence.

Love the saying that if Dandelions were hard to grow, we would all have them in our yard.Well they are in our yard anyway and they really aren't so bad. Pretty yellow flowers. I have some other weeks that look like I planted them. I should take a picture of them.
Have a great evening.

Audrey, thanks glad you like it

Marg weeds are about the only thing growing in my yard right now :)

Ann said...

split rock ranch a yummy lunch for the llamas and rabbits.

Donna I love when I play around too...lol I'll bet you're picking up more than you think

sharkbytes it does. It didn't stand out quite so much without the 2 other pictures.

lenox knits you would have a blast with it although your photos alone don't need any help.

earthtoholly plenty of time to still get this stage. and thank you.
