I tried it and I liked it.

I recently found a tutorial for making a photo look like Lomo photography. I really liked the effect so I had to give it a try.
I'm not sure if I got it exactly right but it makes no difference because I sure did like the way it looked when I was done.
Aside from following the tutorial as close as I could I also added a texture to it. I wonder what Wade was saying to Duke that he found so interesting. Whatever it is, it looks like Duke is really into it.

You are so talented Ann. And Duke is definitely into whatever Wade is doing or saying. Adorable.

Have a terrific evening and my very best to my buddy Duke. :)

I love the look of that photo - and of course love that Duke is in it! That photo should be framed - it's fabulous!

Looks great but then again....can you even imagine a bad photo of Duke? I think not! BTW....I love the dandelions.

Nice photo effect. I like it :)

I don't know what lomo photography is but the picture looks great.

Well, since you called me a show-off earlier, this would be a good time to take the high road and say, "I know you are, but what am I?" Nonetheless, that is a GREAT pic! (Um, would Wade have had a puppy treat in his hand?)

That is very interesting. I would like to see some more. Nice to see Wade and Duke bonding. I hope Duke wasn't getting a scolding.

Just a quick note to let you know that a link to this post will be placed on CraftCrave today [07 May 03:00pm GMT]. Thanks, Maria

I love that photo (but let's be honest, can Duke ever look bad in a photo?).

I think your effects look amazing. It makes the texture so interesting.

This is a great photo and Duke is so adorable. He looks so serious here, like he's really having an important conversation.

Love the effect but I have to concentrate and focus my eyes really hard to identify what is on the right side of the photo. If you hadn't said who(what) it was I would never have known.

I like the effect! I think Duke is looking for a treat.

What software do you use. I really would like to learn more and get some software to play with my photo's.

I LOVE this image!

Donna, thank you I was quite pleased myself.

Sandee thanks Duke does appear to be quite attentive to the conversation

Cinnamon girl thanks I was happy with it too

Beaded tail thanks, I just might have to do that

Sheri well I can only imagine a bad photo of Duke because I have so many of them on my computer. He moves very fast so I have lots of blurry Duke shots

DKMiller thank you, This one I could reproduce but most of the time I play around so much that I forget all the steps I took to get to the final result

Bossy Betty I'm surprised I remembered to insert the link. I tend to forget some times

Vanilla seven thanks, I was impressed with the image I saw on the tutorial site and had to try it out

allotments4you I didn't know what lomo was either I had to read up on it. I didn't realize it was done using a specific camera

FishHawk I only call them as I see them and you were indeed being a show off :) I don't think Wade had any treats so I'm not sure how he got Duke to pay such close attention.

Russ I'm sure this is a technique that I will be using often since I really like the look. No scolding for Duke they were just chilling on the back steps

Audrey he is cute and since he's pretty much my only subject I'm glad that he is

Nico designs you're welcome, have fun with it

craftcrave, thank you

Anne believe it or not Duke can look bad in a picture especially when he's nothing but a little white blur

Leeuna He does look pretty serious and his ears are perked up so that does indicate that he's really paying attention

Grace Wade HATES to have his picture taken so it's either something like this or a picture of him flashing me his middle finger. I like this better :)

BBoysMom Duke is always looking for a treat. I think he has a bit of an addiction.

Duni thank you glad you like it

I use this edit on Picnik most often but it would probably be useful to actually learn the technique myself. Thanks for the link!

Poetic Shutterbug, thank you, I do get lots of practice :)

LDH I've probably come across that tutorial more than a few times in the past and never gave it much thought, I guess this time I was drawn to it because that seems to be the style I prefer

Special photography or not, this is an awesome shot! The composition(?) looks great to me. And of course, the special effects make it even more interesting. Thanks for sharing about Lomo...I'd never heard of it. :o)

Ann said...

earthtoholly why thank you, I was pretty proud of it. I always assumed that Lomo was just the effect name, I didn't realize that it was actually a camera.
