The first 50
The local Dollar General store used to sit right behind my house but they recently built a new store so that they could have adequate parking. Yesterday morning was their grand opening celebration. They were giving away a $10 gift card to the first 50 customers and I fully intended to be one of them. Hey ten bucks is ten bucks. I pulled in to their parking lot twenty five minutes before they were scheduled to open and there was already a line forming at the door. I may have been customer number 30 something. There was also a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $20 or more so I was going to take advantage of that too. I filled my basket, went to the register and wouldn't you know it, my total came to $19. GUM! Yep, I grabbed a few packs of gum and took that total over the mark. I paid a total of $5 and some odd cents for my purchases.

Always nice when you can advantages on offers like these. However I also feel that sometimes people can end up buying stuff they don't really want because they are going to save money....so in actuality although your purchases would have only coast you $5....that money could also have stayed in your purse?!?!? I am definitely one of the more cautious buyers....only getting an offer if I was going to buy it anyway.

you done good girl! what a bargain. i used to collect owls for many years, i had owls every where. i still like them, just don't collect any more. he is a find! your grabbing of gum reminded me of something. i checked out in WM and asked for cash back. she handed it to me and closed the register, i looked and she had given me a 50 and i said i don't want a fifty, please change it for me. she said she could not to take it to the manager at the end cash register.she said sorry, i can't change it, we argued and argued. i said fine! i reached over and grabbed a pack of gum and said i want to purchase this. gave her the 50 and had my cashed 50. isn't that dumb
20 items for $5, what a bargain! I stayed out off the $1 store because I tended to spend too much there.

Those grand opening sales are pretty nice. Sadly, I usually don't get to go to any but I definitely feel a little envious.
