I love Dollar Tree

To some people Dollar Tree is a store filled with cheap junk that isn't worth much of anything. To me it's a gold mine. I belong to a Facebook group that is for Dollar Tree and Cricut crafts. Between that group and Pinterest I have so many ideas for projects it's not even funny. The best part is that the items you need are only $1. The down side is that all these project ideas are out there on the internet and everyone is flocking to Dollar Tree and cleaning the shelves of the latest and greatest crafting rage so it can be tricky to find things.

Moving on, I recently bought these cute little jars. They're plastic and only about 3" high.

Perfect for making cute little gifts for Valentines Day.

I cut the heart for the lid and the words for the front of the jar on my Cricut machine. I stuffed some tissue paper inside so the words would show up better and also to partially fill the jar so that I didn't have to fill it completely with the Hershey kisses. I'm cheap and since I'm doing several of these I wanted the bag of kisses to stretch.

I have some different sayings to put on these so they won't all be exactly alike. When I do more I'll post another picture.

These are so cute and make me wish we had a dollar store nearby ... likely a good idea that we don't have one or I'd accumulate more stuff. I really like those wee mason jars.

The Dollar Tree is the new five-and-dime. Woolworth's had stuff you could find nowhere else, and these dollar stores fill a real niche.

these are adorable, for some reason tiny anything appeals to me. glad you said 3 inches tall, that helps. not only good for candy but would be adorable as a decoration....you could put just about anything on a jar or in the little jar for a decoration. had not thought about the Dollar Tree having a run on things.

Love the Dollar tree! I made a mirror a few years ago with 4 8x10 mirrors from there. I love it and got lots of complements on it!

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

That is so cute...and whoever gets it could store treasures in it after the candy is gone, or cut a slit in the lid and have a piggy bank.

Great project Ann, and I do LOVE the dollar stores. We have quite a few around here, not far inbetween each either. I shop at them quite a lot actually. Many many good artsy things.

It is so pretty! What a great gift it would make, looking more expensive than it really was! I LOVE dollar Tree and go there frequently.

CheerfulMonk, thanks

Anni, thank you

Carol I may keep one for myself and mine will be full of kisses instead of half tissue paper...lol

Cynthia I remember Woolworths and would go there often with my mom

Lin, I agree, I find treasures all the time.

Sandee thank you

Suzyb thanks. I'm a dollar store addict...lol I love that they stock a lot of crafty items.

Ginny thanks. I think this is actually a regular item of theirs so I'll be able to make some more for Easter and any other holiday or occasion I can think of. I love Dollar Tree too. Some are better than others and the one closest to me is probably the least favorite but it will do.

Finally I looked up about your Dollar Tree. It seemed similar to many of our stores that feature lots of cheap things, basically made in an Asian country but then I noted that some of your stores sell food/snacks. Ours certainly don't...but they have many oddments like the jars you found...

I've a few local ones including one at the bus station, who if you buy more than around $10 worth, you get free wrapped sweets. http://www.joyfulgiftnmore.co.nz/
