All the better to see you with my dear

So I finally had my appointment with the eye doctor yesterday. They left me a voicemail on Friday reminding me of my appointment and I thought I heard 9:15 on the voicemail. I thought that can't be right. I wrote the appointment down as 1:15. I gave them a call to make sure and sure enough my appointment was for 9:15. I was glad because I prefer an earlier appointment.

So get there, call them to let them know you are there and they come out to get you when they are ready for you. Other than checking my eyes real quick it was pretty much the exact some prescription I had before. I think he may have tweeked it a little but not much. $444 later I was out of there.

After that I had to make a stop at Walmart for a couple things. I saw this truck in the parking lot and thought it was rather unique.

I'm going to take a guess and say this was probably a pretty expensive truck especially with those wheels.

I agree with you about the truck. You're lucky you can get your eyes checked. My eye doctor canceled my appointment in April and hasn't phoned back yet. Fortunately they are continuing Andy's treatment for macular degeneration.

All vehicles are expensive these days! And not worth it. Once you drive off the dealer's parking lot, the depreciation value drops by $10 thousand. Looks like a Chevy Avalanche.

Isnt it amazing what glass cost? My last ones was a bit higher...i know due to the frame because mine are no stronger than reading glasses... just one eye different to the other. And they are bifocals. I would love to have a truck again...but was so thankful to have th Rav4 when I broke my leg because it was perfect for getting in or out.

I agree about the truck. You just never know what you will find either inside or outside Wal-Mart. I'm glad your eyes are stable! But not that is cost almost half a grand to find out.

Oh no on the four for four! Glad you got the glasses but sorry it broke the bank! Never seen a truck quite like that I know those wheels are custom they don't come on the trucks like that and trucks are really really expensive these days I think they start at like 30,000 and go to 60000 or more

We'll get a call when our eye appointments are due. We've been going to the same place for years and years.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I have AMD and have an opthamologist appointment every six months, my last appointment was supposed to be in April and they called to change it - I opted for June 8th but I'm wondering if I shouldn't put it off until July *sigh* Since he is a specialist they don't do prescription checks so I have to go to an optometrist for that, and my glasses are pricey because I have transition lenses (automatically turn into sunglasses) - but in the end that's cheaper than 2 pairs of glasses and it is convenient (plus I don't go out much and I don't wear my glasses at home - they're just for distance.)

Happy to hear that you were able to get your glasses taken care of. Take care.

Wow! Glasses are expensive these days! I have a dentist appointment on Thursday and it's pretty much the same thing. I have a form I have to fill out and they gave me a phone number to text when I arrive, then they will text me when to come in. And I have to wear a mask. I have to be alone, no one in the waiting room! And my dentist is my brother!

CheerfulMonk. I've been calling them for about a month, they were closed for quite a while and only had an emergency number

Anni, that's for sure

Ginny, It kind of hurt hearing how much they were especially since the last pair were totally paid for through OVR. That's the price I pay for being careless.

Cynthia, they sure do. I needed bifocals too so that makes them more than single vision

Sandee I was actually due for an eye appointment because when I got them checked last year he said he wanted to see me back in a year instead of two. Then they closed because of the virus so I never got in there.

Grace if your opthamologist is anything like the place I went they only had one or two people in there at a time. I think pretty much everywhere is doing the same thing. The transition lenses would be nice.

A pretty expensive truck.... and a pretty expensive eye appt/glasses! You poor dear! But I bet you're going to look gorgeous in your new glasses. A lot prettier than that truck! :-D Can't wait to see them on you. Love, Andrea xoxo

Glad you finally got in and got your new glasses. So, expensive, aren't they? I wear one contact and that is bad enough, but this year I will need to update my glasses too. Dread the price.

The wheels are what that makes the truck look...um..."fancy." Those wheels are big with some cultures here...not the usual run-of-the-mill tires that comes with vehicles. They are special order.
