The future of lawn care.

More specifically, the future of my lawns care. No more will you see me doing this.

Last week I called a landscaper who advertised on Facebook. He told me he would swing by and look at my yard and get back to me with a price. I missed his call Friday and the voicemail he left was hard to understand because his cell phone was breaking up really bad. I was going to call him back today but got a text message from him last night. He gave me a price of $25 to mow, do the weed eating and blowing off the walks. Last year a girl I worked with told me her grandson did mowing for $20 a week. I turned it down because at the time I thought that was a lot for something I could do myself. This year, I know I can't do it any more and with this guy he does all the extra as well. I'm pretty sure he's the one who used to do the neighbors across the street and they always did a good job.

This summer I can sit back, relax and enjoy myself. I should probably advertise a one year old push mower for sale.

don't sell the mower yet, message here from negative nelli. wait and see, he could do a bad job, not show up, fall and break a leg, then you would need the mower. 😁
the price is good, it cost a lot more than that here. maybe you can get by with every other week or do you need it every week. which eve that is a good price for all that work.. yay for a FB find. we found our AC guy on there.

We pay $35, and our yard is really small...so 25 sounds like a steal! Glad you found someone.

There does come a time when outsourcing certain chores becomes a necessity. And the cost in money seems reasonable as opposed to the physical cost of doing it yourself. You've got quite a bit of lawn and $25 seems more than reasonable. Quite the bargain actually. Probably not more than a 1/2 hours work for someone with power tools LOL What a relief, eh? It's good to be kind to yourself!

Good for you, Ann! And $25 is a steal, believe me. It would cost us $70 to have the same thing done so as long as Dan feels he can do it, I'm not saying anything. When he doesn't feel like he can do it, it's time for us to move. Enjoy having your lawn mowed, honey.... you deserve that!!! ~Andrea xoxo

HOORAY!! I am so glad that you got a great price! Does he also do snow removal in winter?? Sometimes these guys do both and you get priority because you are already a customer.

Just think how glorious it will be to come home from work and the yard is already cut!!

Good for you! Enjoy your summer and help someone else out with a job. It's a win-win, you'll both have a better summer because of it :)

Good for you. We all know when it's time to let someone else do the work. Good for you.

Have a fabulous day off, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

Ginny, thanks. I'm pretty excited about not having to mow

Anni, I thought so too

Grace, yes there does and the time was now. I've always been able to push mow in an hour but that didn't include all the trim work which I was always too tired to do after mowing.

Andrea, I was actually expecting him to quote me a higher price so I was quite pleased when he said $25

Lin, Thanks. I'm not sure about the snow. I'll have to find out. I went out for a while today and when I came home my lawn was already done. They were at another house up the street and when he saw me get out of the car he waved. Guess he wanted me to know he was the one who did the work.

Sandee, as much as I would like to think I'm still young yet, I have to admit that the mowing is too much for me.

Hi There, You are smart to get someone to take care of your yard... As much as we love yard-work, mowing and edging is something that we decided to hire-out.... We pay $30 a week for that little job up here and that is worth every penny.... We have enough to do just working on the flowerbeds, weeds, etc.... (It's ALL getting to be too hard for both of us and I hate to admit that.)

Hugs,
Betsy

That is wonderful news. We have a small front yard area. Our back yard has no grass, it's just landscaping, stopping stones, patios and rocks. We pay our guy $50 a month and he comes every week throughout the year unless it's raining or on Thanksgiving because Thursday is our day. Now he hasn't changed his price in 14 years because the risk of losing someone to someone else is pretty big out here. I always give him $10 at Christmas.
