The first day

The first day of the new year was very quiet, a little bit lonely but also a little productive. I got the majority of my Christmas decorations down packed up and put away. I still have the tree in the living room to take down but that won't take very long
It was very gloomy and dreary so it was definitely a stay-at-home kind of day.
Naturally, being New Year's Day, it called for the traditional pork and sauerkraut. I made that in my new Pioneer Woman Crock-Pot that Amanda gave me for Christmas

Sky like that is not exactly my cup of tea because the day never feels like it gets started. Your crock pot is cheerful though.
Yup its me from grandmacsplace, I deleted that blog and started up a new one... Watercolor Retirement. It fits me more now that I learned to paint with watercolors during our pandemic. lol It is your artistic ways that brought me here. I enjoy your creativity, thank you for being you. :)

I agree with Grandma about the crockpot being cheerful, it really is pretty and now you can eat left overs for days. I wish my stuff was down. I intended to do it yesterday but life with Bob down is dragging me down and i just did not feel like dealing, it may be there for who knows how long

Your skies must be like ours at the moment, I call them 'Battleship grey' can be so depressing if you let it.
Love that crockpot, never seen a fancy one like that.

I spent most of my day alone as well. My husband was in his garage and my grandbabies were not home. I read most of the day and worked on some plans to rework my business. I want to add to it as well. I am hoping to learn to earn money from some affiliate sights as well.

Same view out my window. And it seems it has been foggy for-ever, by now. Ughhhhhhhh!

But some snow flurries today. I so want snow. Just real snow. No ice. Yeah, I'm not very fussy, am I?

Happy New Year! Now begins the two most gloomy months of the year, in my opinion!

I bet that pork and sauerkraut was delicious, and that's such a pretty new crock-pot! We have snow coming down for most of the day tomorrow. Happy New Year Ann, may it bring you lots of happiness.

It's the opposite in New Zealand where I live, a little too hot and humid with blazing down sun (plenty of people will have gotten sunburnt, because no all sunblock creams are really the best blocking agent) to go out - so indoors with the aircon on.

I totally understand where you're coming from, Ann. The "lonely" starts for me today. We'll get through it together, girl. ~Andrea xoxoxo

I grew up with pork, dumpling and sauerkraut. Sounds like a great meal. Good for you working on taking down Christmas. I am going to wait until Thursday to start although I have started gathering to the dining room table things around the house. I always do that first. Then the trees will be next. It takes me a long time to set up and take down and right now I have a lung infection which I get every year because I do too much and wear myself down. It certainly did look like a dreary day!
