Back to the yard.

The other day I posted about going out to the yard with my camera. I only talked about the guy working on replacing the grass so today I'll show you some things I saw.

While not everyone is happy to see them, dandelions always make me happy

The forsythia is finally blooming

This grows all down the side of my house. I've contemplated pulling it all out because it gets to be quite a chore keeping it trimmed back.

That forsythia sure is pretty! But I can see that it might need to be trimmed back a bit. I like dandelions. When my kids were growing up, we would go to the park and they always enjoyed gathering as many of them as they could find :)

Ella used to call forsythia "Banana flowers" because the blooms look like banana peels.

Did you ever pick a dandelion and hold it under your chin ...to see how yellow your skin glowed? Wasn't it to see if someone loved you? Or something like that?

I love dandelions and always have. but then I am a known weed lover. and about the forsythia, I say let it grow like its meant to grow and make a big hedge. that is what we like best, natural looking. mother did that with her bushes too.

I love both dandelions and forsythia too. I trim back my forsythia quite a bit each autumn because it grows like a weed every spring. ~Andrea xoxo

Dandelions do look pretty when there is carpet of yellow! They drive most people crazy, though. My grandmother used to make dandelion salad all the time. I recently saw someone batter and cook dandelion flowers in an air frier! I guess they are pretty good for you! I wonder how they taste!

So pretty. Yellow is such a happy color.

Have a fabulous day off tomorrow, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

I love hedges and would never pull it out unless it was doing damage to your house. As for dandelions, we used to spray them at our out house in a tight neighborhood, but now that I have this acre, it's too much work and too expensive to try and kill them. I remember how when I was a little girl I thought them to be delightfully beautiful and I've decided to embrace my childhood and start loving them again.

It's always a first sign of spring when the Forsythia blooms. Not to keen on dandelions but they are a cheery yellow.

I absolutely love forsythia bushes. They don't grow here in Southern California. I grew up with them in Illinois and I miss Lilac bushes too!
