happy Mother's Day
So today is Mother's day. All week I've been reading nicey nice posts on Facebook about how your mother is the best friend you'll ever have. Every time I read those I just want to gag. Not all of us had wonderful mothers. While I can't say that I myself was the best mother out there, I do hope that I was at least a little bit better than mine.

I think the way you and Amanda like to do.things together proves you are a great mom.
I always feel the way you do on mothers day, but mine is on fathers day. I can't gush about him, I loved him and he loved me, but the gushey stuff doesn't fit him and I got married at 19 to get out of his house. Mother I can gush about but don't because I am not a gusher. I talk a lot, but not the sweet stuff
I agree with Rose, Amanda turned out well and I think your son did also. one reason i ignore mothers day is because I was a crappy mother myself because I am my daddy personified
You won't see that on my blog. My Mother and I never had that kind of relationship either. Hugs to you. I know how it feels.

It is sad that some women just are not the mother's to their children that they should be.
I agree with Ginny, I appreciate how honest you are. I'm thinking you are a lot better than your own mom.
Yep...understand. Mom and I had our issues, and it was not just the child making it all seem like it is the mom that is wrong. My mom was not horrible by any means, but being the sis between boys that she worshipped made my life not always the best. But my mom was strong, she endured a lot herself. I just had to except that I was not the person she wanted me to be, I was not like her. I am hoping however that you had a nice day.
Oh, AMEN, sister. I can't do social media on holidays and Mother's Day gushing is the worst. I'm sad to read how many of us didn't have the best relationships with their mothers. I don't think I have always been the best mom, but I hope we get points for trying!

I know my mother was a good person but by the time I needed her she was pretty much drinking everyday. I have blocked out a lot of memories from my childhood. I'm sure you were a great mother.
