Light up

Yesterday was a beautiful day. When I left work it was 43 degrees. That may sound cold to my southern friends but around these parts it felt pretty warm after the 20's and 30's we've had. The snow is gone now too.

I decided it was the perfect opportunity to put out the lights that I have for outside. I'm a bit of a cheater. Instead of stringing lights I've got a couple spotlights. One shines red and green lights all over and the other is just a spotlight that projects a picture of Santa. I wish I could get the red and green to cover the whole house but with the tree in the middle of the yard it just won't do it. I could have bought another one but instead I went with the Santa.

The first picture didn't turn out so well. It used the flash and you really can't get the whole effect. Pretty cool laser beam shooting up out of my front door though don't you think?

The next one I tried without the flash. I might need to move the Santa in closer so he fits better between the two windows.

You must be inside playing with a laser! Yes, the second picture is much better. I like all the effects. Your house looks like a split level! Is it?

i like those lights, there are several homes in our neighborhood that have them, all different. on tv yesterday it said those laser lights can blind a plane pilot if they are aimed up and not at the wall properly. 11,000 fine if it does that. so be sure to keep the laser aimed at the house not up... that said I love the look and the one without the flash better

The second photo is awesome - I like the Santa and I'm sure lots of kiddies will, too. ^^

What a great idea to avoid climbing a ladder to hang outside lights! It looks great, Ann!

Very pretty. My next door neighbor does the same thing. He says it is way safer then being on a ladder. We agree.

Have a fabulous day off, my friend. Big hug to you and scritches to that handsome Gibbs. ♥♥♥

That's totally cool! Where do you put the spotlights so they light up the house?

Very nice. We have nothing out front. Mark wouldn't put lights on this house which we moved into 12 years ago. We did have reindeer out front but now we put them in the backyard which we enjoy. Our neighbor had one of those lights on his house and it was stolen so we just haven't done anything out front anymore.

Actually the laser beam was from me moving the camera too soon, nothing was going on in the houe

yep, it turned out much better and I didn't even have it on a tripod

sadly there aren't as many houses that put up lights around here any more. Our whole street used to be lit up

yeah, this is much easier for an old lady like me :)

it's so much easier to use these

they are stuck in the ground in front of the house. In the first picture you can see the little black thing about middle of the picture near the bottom. That's the one for the Santa and the one that does the red and green lights is in the ground on the other side of the tree

That's pretty sad that someone would steal it.

So are they plugged in somewhere or do they run on batteries? So cool...
