Reindeer trail walk

I saw the Reindeer Trail Walk advertised on Facebook and asked if anyone wanted to go with me. It's about an hour drive from my house but I thought it might be kind of fun. It turned out that it was just me and my daughter Amanda that went.
Let me just say that it was not what I was expecting. It was set u in a park and they did have it decorated but I thought that maybe they would have reindeer throughout the park. We walked a fair distance and saw 2 reindeer that were in a fenced area You could walk right and get a good look at them and there were handlers there to talk about them but that was it. With freezing noses we trudged back to the heat of the car and drove back home. A stop was made at an antique store which I'll post pictures of tomorrow.

After getting back to my house Amanda decorated my tree and I worked on putting out some of the other decorations. Now the house is a cluttered mess with boxes and totes all over the place. Today after work I'll have to try and get things straightened up and looking presentable. Then again, I'm the only one who will see it so if it doesn't bother me it may wait until Monday.

I would love to see the reindeer, even pinned up. sorry it was a bust. the part about the cold noses would turn me off. of course if we had reindeer here, they would be sweating and unhappy... yay for Amanda going with you and putting up the tree..as for me, I could not go to sleep if the boxes were not put away. when we moved in our house 29 years ago the closing was at 3 pm. we came home and unloaded the big truck, 2 pickups and a blazer and I could not go to bed until all boxes were empty and boxes out by the road, bob and I unpacked and through things on shelves like mad people. he knew if I don't sleep he doesn't. I can't help myself, boxes make me crazy unless they are out of sight, like in a closet.

Well, that was kind of pitiful even though I guess they tried...something to do anyway.
Thank God for daughters...don’t know what I’d do without mine. Bet the tree is pretty!
Stay warm...

I wouldn't worry about the mess, it's a happy mess and you had fun making it.

At least you tried. I would have expected to see more reindeer too. Antique shop was probably nice. Glad you got your tree decorated. That's how I'm feeling about my decorations. Adam and Gabby will see them Christmas day so I have plenty of time to put them up!

At least you got out for a bit. Having Amanda around is a good thing too.

Decorating for Christmas is a messy business. I so remember.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

Well, it was something different and you and Amanda spent time together and at least the tree is decorated - You need to embrace the new mind set that you DO THINGS FOR YOU. If it makes you happy, you do it. If it doesn't make you happy you don't do it (We're not talking about work and taxes here, 'cause you gotta do that and pay those, but you know what I mean.)

What a disappointment! It really sounds like you had more fun back at home with your daughter! What about the gingerbread house that is advertised? The antique store sounds like more fun, can't wait to see it!

That is very true on all counts...lol

That is very true. It was a quality day. I'm still working on remembering that I only have myself to please now.

Yep, I think we did have more fun back at home. I wasn't sure what you were talking about when you asked about the gingerbread house so I had to look at the ad again. I have no idea what that was. I don't recall seeing anything that looked like a gingerbread house. There was a building with a long line in front of it so maybe the inside was decorated like a gingerbread house. Neither one of us wanted to stand in line to see what was going on

The walk would be good just getting out & away from the routine...but if it was a bust...well, decorating sounds good instead!

Looks like a pretty place to take pictures! Too bad there weren't more reindeer - although I feel bad for them - they don't look happy. There's a store nearby that has 2 reindeer and they only have a small space to live - they always look sad. I want to set them free. Haha :)

I probably would have enjoyed the walking more if it hadn't been so cold

I didn't drag my big camera with me this time but it would have been nice.
