A little crafting time

While scrolling through Pinterest I came across a Christmas ornament that I liked. The original ornament is on Leap of Faith Crafting. This is the pin I found.

I gathered my materials.
A Dollar Tree ornament
some extra fine glitter
Minwax polycrylic.
I also downloaded the free SVG file from the blog above for the Joy to the world

I still need to get a battery operated candle to put inside but this is mine.

I picked up several of the ornaments and will be making more. I think these will make nice little gifts.

It is stunning, and very elegant! I never heard of extra fine glitter. It gives a beautiful look, though.

i need to walk through the dollar store, have never seen an ornament shapped like this one. it looks like the jars momma put pickles in. she would LOVE this. great idea for gifts. i can't decide what size it is... if that is a tiny can of paint I am guessing about the size of a normal sized round ornament. am I right?

I love it and of course I want to know how, even tho I would never, COULD never do it myself. So I'm guessing the sticky minwax stuff was gooped around the inside of the ornament and then the glitter was poured inside and swooshed around so it would stick - Am I right? You didn't actually fill the thing with glitter? Love the font but you know I would like colored glitter - maybe gold, or I hate to say this, pink...('cause I am no fan of the color pink...)

Thank you

Thanks. I think this calls for extra fine glitter because since it's so fine it sticks to the polycrylic better and gives a better coating than some of the chunkier glitter

Yep, you pretty much have the procedure down. You pour some of the minwax in and swirl it around to coat the inside then dump out the excess. Next pour some glitter in and swoosh around to coat then dump the excess glitter out. Since I have several different colors of glitter I'll most likely make some in different colors. The thing will be making sure if the glitter is a darker color to use a vinyl that will show up well

Oh....that turned out great. You could even use the round balls with just putting someones name on there and the date or just the word Christmas and the date. You keep it up and I will have to get me one of those circut cutter thingys. HAHA

I have some round ones and I've been trying to decide what I want to put on those. The ones I bought are pretty small though so I won't be able to put much on them
