Another crafty Monday

August 19th was another crafty Monday. 

It started with taking some plain wood pumpkins, gluing 4 together and then painting them. I also painted some round wood pieces that I had.

Then I glued the pumpkin to the wood base, added some Spanish moss, and a little gnome and a couple little squirrels

I had enough to make a total of 3. The gnomes and the squirrels I found at Hobby Lobby. There were 3 gnomes and 8 squirrels.

Next was a mop head ghost. I had bought all the stuff to make this last year and finally got around to doing this. The mop head is glued over a small vase and then I added the witches hat and felt eyes.

My final project for the day was another shirt. I cut the iron on vinyl on my Cricut and then added it to the shirt.

Week 10 drawings

 I've still got 2 more weeks worth of drawings after this post to show you. I hope I don't overload you on drawings.

This one looks like one of those chickens has a broken neck.

Treating myself part 2

We have a local pizza shop that for the longest time never opened until 4:00. When Wade was still alive we would occasionally get pizza or subs from there. It's been ages since I've had their pizza. 

The shop was owned and run by a father and son. The father recently passed away and now the son is stepping up his game and has longer hours, adding delivery on certain days and has now added the option of paying with a credit card where before it was always cash only.

Sunday 8/18 I broke down and finally ordered myself a pizza. It was so good and I ate way too much of it. I ordered a bigger one than I should have but I tend to like cold pizza too.

I get mine with pepperoni, mushrooms and onions. What do you like on your pizza

Treating myself part one.

 After I left Amandas house that one Saturday, I decided to stop at a Dollar General that just recently opened. I had heard that it was supposed to be a DG market but it didn't look any different from all the other Dollar Generals around. I browsed the aisles found a couple fall decorations that I liked. I put them in my cart and treated myself to some inexpensive decor

I thought these were cute and perfect for a tiered tray

I loved this squirrel and I think he will stay out all year long. He's currently residing on the ledge in the Ann cave with all the other wildlife knickknacks. He's a good size at almost 9" high.

4 weeks of work doodles

 I guess I haven't posted these in a while. I've got 4 weeks worth to show.

The last time I posted these I made the comment that I was running out of ideas for them. Grace left a comment saying "But isn't doodling supposed to be sorta aimless-just whatever crosses your mind at the moment?" And yes, she's absolutely right. So since then, on Sunday morning I pull out the new paper and my markers and just go with whatever forms on the paper.

A visit with Amanda

 Saturday 8/17, I went to Amanda's house to drop off the t-shirts I had made for her. As soon as I walked in the door there was an outside chair sitting there with Kind Milo curled up on it. I said hello to King Milo and commented on him having his very own throne. Amanda said it had been out in the yard and when it started raining they brought it in and Milo claimed it as his own.

She has a butterfly bush growing right next to her porch and I sat and watched all the butterflies landing on it.

She has lots of pretty flowers growing too

Best Monday Ever

 Sunday Aug 11, I got a text from my son asking what I was doing on Monday. I replied nothing and he asked if I wanted to watch Presley on Monday from 10:30-5:30. Without hesitation I responded SURE.

We had a lovely chat, and she had her lunch

I had given her the shirt I made and she knew that there was another one that still needed something on it. We headed to the cricut and she picked the design herself. She also helped weed the design and apply it. She decided she wanted it to be on the back of the shirt. Would you believe I forgot to get a picture of the shirt.

We got out all the toys and played with those. Then we went outside and she asked if we could go for a walk. I asked her where she wanted to walk to and she said "I wonder if the library is open?" As luck would have it, they were and they're only a few blocks down the street.

After that we came back home and played in the yard for a while 

I almost forgot, there was coloring as well

Her dad came to pick her up earlier than expected and the next day her mom told me that Presley said "I wasn't ready to leave yet". 

Spending the afternoon with her made for the best Monday ever.

Happy birthday Gibbs

Today is a special birthday. Gibbs turns 10 years old.

He got a special card in the mail.

It was even signed. That was so sweet of Libby to send him a card and he very much appreciated it.

Sunset

 The one evening I noticed how pretty the sky was looking so I went outside to see if I could get any good pictures. There's always way too much in the way to get a good sunset picture but I gave it my best shot.

The pictures just really don't do it justice. It looked way better in person.

On a shirt kick

 I've been on a bit of a t-shirt kick lately. I've had a couple shirts sitting around for quite a while waiting for me to put something on them in heat transfer vinyl. As of the time I'm writing this post, I've done two for myself, two for Amanda and one for Presley. I only took a picture of one of the ones I did for myself.

The other one I made for myself is a white t-shirt and in black vinyl it says "Caution, I have no filter"

I have one more t-shirt that I can put something on but I can't decide what I want on it yet. I also have a couple of tote bags and a couple of pillow covers I can do.

Lighting up my life.

 Some time ago I had bought a set of electric fairy lights with intentions of putting them up around my desk area in the cave. I of course procrastinated for a long time but finally got around to getting them up. It was a very long strand of lights and I went around the area 3 times with them. I like the way they look.

I took way more photos than this but I won't bore you with all of them. 

Friday fun

 So I said the other day that I had to work on Monday the 5th and then had off Friday the 9th. It was kind of a dreary day with rain and a bit on the cooler side but I didn't care one single bit.

It all started where any good day off starts

Then I hit the road to head to Espyville, Pa to pick something up from a friends house. 

Before heading home I made a stop at Joann fabrics in Meadville, Pa. I had heard they were going out of business so I wanted to stop and see if that was true. The store sure didn't look like they were closing and the cashier confirmed that it was just a rumor. I browsed through their Halloween stuff.

I think I made a couple other stops before heading home but I really can't recall where I went.
