No shortage on rudeness

Goodwill has a dropoff container in our parking lot at work. Right on the container it says "clothes and shoes only" I think it also specifies that you are to put all items "INSIDE" the container.
What is wrong with people?

There is deifinitely more than clothes sitting there. I saw a baby walker, some other type of baby thing, a tv as well as all those bags. It's crazy.

So the boss tells someone to call Goodwill and tell them to come and pick this stuff up. Goodwill says they can't get a truck there until NEXT Thursday. So the boss says tell them to pick it up now or they can pick up the whole thing. I can't blame him one bit. It's sad though that one persons inconsiderate actions will ruin this for other people. This of course isn't the first time this has happened but this is the worst that I've ever seen it. The other thing I see is people who will stand out there and go through the stuff to see if there's anything they want.

True what you have said, Ann. It happens over here too. At some place its even worst. People put rubbish there. Am not sure whether they thinks its a rubbish bin or how... *palmfaced*

Just a thought. Was the bin full?
On the other hand, I think people are just lazy and spoil it for others.

They need to keep this drop-off under control! If they are unable to do it, they should not have out it there. We had a Salvation Army store a few blocks away, and there was a big box like this beside it. The stuff was all over the parking lot! And they eventually closed.

I live in California. If you want to see rude come here. We are a welfare state. Sanctuary cities and welfare. Homeless camps everywhere. People crapping on the streets. That's mild compared to what's going on here.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

Yes that is an unsightly mess and there is probably stuff there that doesn't belong but Goodwill should do a better job at maintaining their own sites. If an establishment is nice enough to give them free space then they should be courteous enough to maintain it properly.

I don't know about in your town, but Goodwill here no longer comes to the house to pick up items, only furniture and it has to be perfect. we are seeing more and more things sitting out in front of houses waiting to be picked up and crushed because they don't want them. they used to take anything and them recycle, now they are picky and also high priced so no one can afford to buy what they sell. one lady has a beautiful old upright piano and can't find anyone who wants it and GW said no, they used to recyle clothing that they could not sell, now they refuse it. one ladies husband died, she took everything he had and went to GW they refused it because it had dust on it. told her to take it to the dump... of course I would have cleaned it first but this is to say goodwill is not what it was.

I doubt if this is one person's rudeness, honey. That's a whole lot of people being rude by not following directions.... and also Goodwill for not monitoring their donation bins well enough. The same thing happens in our town too. I don't understand!! I don't blame your boss one little bit. What an eyesore. :-( Love, Andrea xoxo

No one wants upright pianos anymore. They use electronic keyboards.... if they use anything at all. Music lessons are going the way of dinosaurs and it's so sad. ~Andrea

Same here, Ginny... and people are STILL leaving stuff behind the closed Salvation Army Store building. *sigh* ~Andrea

Must not have a regular pickup, best to take it straight in.surprised you don't have a few box shoppers. There are so many agencies taking clothing, it is easy to share all around. This looks like an easy drop for someone clearing out a home.

It's sad if they are too lazy to take it to the store itself, and shame on Good Will for not maintaining their bins.

I see that often at those drop off places. They definitely don't make the rounds very often!

It's sad that people do that. We don't have any of those receptacles in our town so people have to take it to the Goodwill themselves. There are a couple of thrift stores that will pick up from people's house though.

Omg. Why is it that people always follow bad examples of other people?

That's a lot of stuff! People are so lazy nowadays! If it gets wet then it's useless.
