A weighty matter again

After a day off for sleeping on the couch after work, I finally got around to reading the comments from my post the other day. I thought I would use those for todays post.

Some of you asked if I remembered something called Metrecal. No, can't say that I have.

On the subject of packing up and saving off sized clothes. I wish I would have. I ended up feeling so depressed about my weight that I just knew I would never get back in to some of them and I had to get rid of them all.

How I do this. I substitute 2 meals for shakes. I have a shake for breakfast and one for lunch. Then I have 3 100 calorie snacks per day. I've found a variety of things I can have for snacks such as 100 calorie cereal bars, pudding or fruit cups, yogurt, and even single serve tuna packets. As for the laxative effect, it doesn't bother me too much but I've read that if you didn't have much fiber in your diet prior to using SlimFast that it could give you problems.

Amount of loss? I think the amount of pounds I lost was misrepresented in my last post. It looked like it said twenty two pounds but in fact it actually said two point two pounds. I wish it had been 22 but I'll take anything as long as it's going in the right direction. The actual total is probably higher but from September 1 to September 18 I didn't have a scale to weigh myself.

That number is still a good loss, plus it is better to lose slowly than too fast. If you lose real fast, it comes back on faster and easier. So you are ding just the right thing!

you said 2 meals and snacks, do you eat dinner? if all you are eating is what you listed, it is not healthy for you.. i now have a PHD in nutriton from 4 years of TOPS and research. ginny is right, losing slowly is the way to go

I wish I had the will power. I admire anyone that can stick to a diet of any kind.

Hope this duet works for you. Where you said, "3 100 calories snacks/day" , I read it as 3100 calorie snacks/day. I couldn't imagine how you could lose weight until I went back and re-read it. I've been following a book called The Starch Solution by Dr. Mcdogall and watching Plentiful Kiki on Youtube who lost 70 pounds on the diet. It's really a healthy and enjoyable way of eating and I lost 14 pounds in 3 months and I have only 5 pounds to go.. I've done shake diets before and I love the convenience of it.. Good Luck

The idea is to eat healthy isn't it? Moderation...even moderation.

What will you do with food when you get back to a better weight, I know it's helping you, but at some point you've gonna have to eat real food... or does the packaging show you how to get back to ordinary foods.
I was once a big person, overweight - I got into a gym/pool program and with the help of a personal trainer, was helped to eat a better diet. Cut all kinds of commercially prepare packets, drinks and bars - other than a protein bar, I ate after the workout, as my home was quite some way from the complex.
But if it works for you, for now, then go for it...

It sure gets harder and harder to lose weight. I really think we need to focus on being healthy and not worry so much about the numbers but it's hard not to. You look great my friend and I know you take care of yourself! Sweet hugs!

I will have to try the shakes. I do like doing a low carb diet but I have to be very serious about it when I do it. Good luck.
