Need a change

Life has become very humdrum. I go to work, I come home, I avoid housework and hobbies, I go to bed, get up the next day and start the routine all over again. I need to give myself a kick in the butt to just start doing things but I don't feel like even doing that.

I think spring could help with that. It looks like spring might be peeking around the corner. The temperatures were a little warmer, the sun was shining and I even saw signs of life in my yard.

Blue sky makes me happy even if there are clouds.

Forsythia buds make me happy

It's kind of a shame that it can't stay this color all year long.

Then Monday rolled around. The temperature dropped and my blue sky went away.

I haven't been very good about responding to comments lately either. If you are one that goes back and checks to see if I replied to your comment I'm sorry I've been so slow.

Love your Forsythia pics! Ella used to call them banana plants, because the blooms look like little banana peels. What with having to cancel all our appointments, (we are on ordered lockdown) one day is the same as the next. The calendars are bare of marked dates. Our biggest adventure is grocery shopping, wearing gloves and using wipes. But that, too, will have to stop.

Don't apologize for anything, Ann. I'm a little blue because of the weather too. These overcast skies and cold temps are doing nothing for my mood either. We had a warm up for awhile and then BAM... winter was back. It's supposed to be in the 50s here by Friday so we'll see. I don't really care about the temperature tho, to be honest. I just need the sun which has been in short supply. Hang in there, kiddo... you're not alone. Love, Andrea XOXO

Just get rested up and trust that spring will eventually come and give you more energy. Sooner or later the restrictions will be lifted and you can get out and have more fun on your days off.

Stay healthy!

I certainly can understand the gloom & lack of energy. These days with all the changes in lifestyle ovetnight has put everyone in a mode of lethargy.

I can certainly understand where you are coming from. It seems that springs peeks out and then winter tries to return. Our high today is to be 43 degrees after it was almost 70 a couple of days ago.

I don't seem to be motivated to do much of anything. I find the hum drum of housework keeps me going, but with the restrictions that we have in place, I am so bored! I am used to being busy with the grand doll, which I don't have now as mom is home with her. I always have breakfast /coffee meets with my friends and now we can't do that either. UGH!

You are not alone Anne, I know I post bits that I'm making online but most of the time I have to force myself to do it.
I was wondering if you were still working with this virus but it seems you are.

I think many of us are feeling the same 'malaise' Ann. We've had wonderful warm, sunny weather for a few days but now we're being told to expect 4-8" of snow tomorrow - April Fool's day ... I don't care for Mother Nature's sense of humour. Fortunately most of the snow has disappeared but the flood situation does not need any additional precipitation. Alas

We had sunshine yesterday, I felt fairly good. We have gray skies today and I wish i could just stay in bed! So I sure share at least some of the same reactions as you. Down the street a lady's daffodils are in full bloom, and I have not even seen a bud on mine. I am so tempted to go for a little drive...we did go through the strip pits the other day, but it is not the same as getting out where I can see anything.

we have not had a single cloud in the sky for 3 plus months. beautiful sky and hot heat and paradise weather. I still feel like you do. I feel like I am in a sci fy movie, trapped inside our house and IT is out there, waiting to pounce... there is much to do here, I have two days of work just doing kitchen and living room drawers, I hate the thought, I have the time, I need something to do, but my mindset is not on cleaning. we are all suffereing from the virus blues is what I think...

I enjoyed your photos of the northwestern PA cloud cover. I grew up in Meadville, PA. The rhododendrons that grew there were magnificent.

On some level, I am grateful for the cruddy weather because it is forcing people to stay inside...BUT...that also includes ME. Ugh. If it isn't raining, we get out on the trail and walk. It helps so much to move and to be outside in fresh air.

I have noticed a lot of people experiencing lethargy and disrupted sleep. I know that I don't really want to do anything...but I push to get something done each day. I'm glad you have work to go to. That helps, I'm sure.

It's a strange time for most of us. We've not been to the boat for almost a month. It's the way of things. I think when it warms up we'll all feel better.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

For sure it's tough to be optimistic right now! We take one day at a time and try to keep positive. I'm still working which helps but next week I'll be off and we'll see what happens then!

Thank you for the forsythia photos. I love them so much. We don't have them in California. We finally had a beautiful day yesterday. I got myself some sunshine in the back yard. I've been taping old Hallmark movies and hiding out in my office. It brings me peace but nothing else is getting cleaned like it should.

Ginny, banana plants, I like tht.

Andrea the weather is not helping at all especially since it got colder after being so nice.

CheerfulMonk, I think I've had far too much rest but the more I get the more I want. It's making me lazy

Anni that's for sure

Carol Mother nature is a big tease and it's not very nice...lol

Briony, yes, a grocery store is an essential business so I'm still working.

Cynthia Meadville is just a hop skip and a jump from here. My husband workded in Meadville and my mother grew up in Linesville

Lin, I wish I could push myself to get things done. I'm feeling so lazy. If it wasn't for work I think I would go totally crazy

Sandee, You must be having withdrawals from the boat. It will be nice once the weather improves and we can get out some.

agree, don't apologise - do what you can...

and with all the dreadful news upon our airwaves, it's hard to stay on top of anything.

I don't go to work at all, but with the "lockdown tightly locked down here" it's hard to be upbeat about a lot of things. Half the time, I don't even know which day it is!!!

These photos remind me and possibly others that "nature and animal life" is just continuing on - getting on with life. And for my back yard, the weeds that are part of the lawn here, are sprouting - the lawncare guy is not an essential service, so NATURE has just said "hey let's get on with what we do best"

we understand if there isn't a reply...just keep showing us "outdoors and of course Gibbs" - the occasional cake decor - actually show us whatever you like...it's nice eye candy...

First of all...I HER YA!! Second of all, why are your Forsythia in bloom and mine just have buds?!?!?! So not fair. This "thing" that's out there, Ann, has made monsters out of all of us but don't fret, you don't have to respond to my comment...:)jp

I understand!! I haven't been doing anything not even opening up my laptop. It's been super gloomy here for days some sunshine would help for sure.

I never expect a reply to any comment I make. I myself am really lax about doing that, but I do love them when you have time. I can't imagine how it is like to be going out to work in public. Take extra care Ann.
