Hodgepodge

Not only is the last day of the work week but it's the last day of the month. Tomorrow we move into December already. Time sure is flying by.

I have no particular subject to blog about so yesterday when I got home from work I took random pictures around the house to use for my post.

I drank lots of coffee yesterday but the best cup of the day was the one I had when I first got home from work. I drank it in one my Christmas mugs that match the dishes I have. I bought the set years ago at Dollar General I think. It has a matching salt & pepper, spoon rest, sugar bowl and napkin holder.

I started painting the other 2 shutters I have. Aside from this one I painted the other one blue.

The other day I pulled all the Christmas decorations out of the crawl space. I started going through them but then decided I just wasn't ready to do it yet. So they are all sitting on the couch in the cave waiting for me to get around to that.

As for my jury duty. I responded to the card and requested to be excused because of my hearing issues. I got a card in the mail from them saying I needed a doctors excuse. I called the ENT and asked for one. The people I talked to acted like I was nuts trying to get dismissed but said they would submit it to the doctor for review and get back to me. They did call back and say that they have the excuse now I just need to have them fax it .

I have gotten many jury letters, and submitted a doctor's note every time. The doctor writes the same letter every time. The mug is so cute! What are these shutters?

Can't wait to see the finished shutters.

I hated jury duty each time I'd get a summons. I opted out a long time ago & the county/federal courts have never 'bugged' me since.

the only reason I was happy to be 70 years old was the next time I got the jury thing I could opt out which I did. my issue is not hearing it is not able to go without the potty every 30 minutes to an hour.. plus osteo will not let me sit for more than half hour to hour at a time. I can see me holding up my hand and saying may I be excused? lol
the mug is perfect for the holidays and can't wait to see what you do to the shutters

I have containers sitting in my living room that need to go back out to the workshop. I'm done with Christmas decorating for this year. A small tree with my favorite ornaments, the Nativity and heavenly host.

Enjoy decorating. It was hard for me to get going at first, but I'm glad I did and love waking up and turning on the tree lights. :-)

Enjoy your TGIF and have a great weekend ~ FlowerLady

You are not alone in the decorations....I dread getting mine out of the attic. So. Much. Work. Ugh. But...it looks so nice when it is done.

Glad you are getting out of jury duty. My mom LOVES to go to jury duty. Can you imagine?? All those people...trapped...can't escape her talking to them. Hahaha!

We keep our Christmas decorations in the crawl space too and each year we try to reduce the amount of stuff because it isn't any fun dragging it up and then returning it after the holidays.

I think you coffee mug is adorable!

John got called for both Superior Court (federal) and Petit Court (county). He was told that if he was well enough to work he was well enough for jury duty.

Hope your weekend is a good one!

I love Christmas dishes so very much. They make me smile.

I hope you can get out of jury duty. It's such a long process for the most part.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I don't think I'll have any decorations out this year other than a wreath and a snowman on the front deck. Lexi will pull down stockings on the mantel and also a Christmas tree so what's the use?

Yay for getting out of jury duty!

And what is the status of your hearing aid financial aid? (I hope you put something real bright and sparkly on those new shutters - I like bright and sparkly!)

This is the first time I've asked to be excused. I just got my doctors excuse today so now I need to fax it to the courthouse. The shutters are for more of that project I did the other day with the word JOY

One will most likely be very much like the other one I did but then I'm thinking one with a snowflake theme.
Jury duty is so incredibly boring. I wish they would stop sending them to me and pick on someone else

it is a lot of work and then even worse when you have to pack it back up.
I have never loved jury duty. I find it very boring and most of the time it's been a total waste of a day

Jury duty is always so boring.

Oh, I remember that first Christmas with a new pet in the house. I was always worried about what they were going to do.

I got a letter from them saying they need to do a follow up appointment before they can go any further. That's scheduled for December 11. Not sure what that's all about it didn't give any indication why they have to do that.
I'm thinking the red one will be close to the last one I did and the blue one will be snowflakes.

I love Christmas mugs. I guess I need to get my out! We haven't even pulled out the Christmas stuff yet. I'm definitely not ready. So glad you got your excuse for jury duty. I have to do that next time for my COPD. It was just to hard on me.
